So I got fed up with the condition of my office, (I blame it on the Strattera). Despite having an 2000 sq ft house, my personal storage space is limited to my office and the garage. My two primary hobbies, paintball and photography, both take up quite a bit of space. My hobbies have a tendency to get out of control--which explains the 20', 16', and 12' cargo trailers that I have for paintball stuff.

So for Father's Day, I decided to renovate my office, adding some much needed storage space. It'd gotten to the point that I hadn't seen my walk-in closet for about three months because of all the stuff piled in front of the door. Here are the fruits of my labor:

The computer desk and wall shelves were the original storage space

This is my "shipping table" and bulk storage (the cabinets are 24" deep)

I love this desk. Plenty of room and the built-in keyboard shelf is at the perfect height (and tall enough to store a beer bottle under).

Here's my photography and airsmithing work bench. The cabinets store my photography gear and airsmithing tools. The bench features a flip out countertop for the light tent. It uses the cabinet doors to support it.

I managed to quadruple my storage space. Now all I have to do is clean out the closet and re-route this bundle of wires.

If you want to see the kind of pictures the light tent puts out, check out this link:

That's one of my paintball toys. I currently have it as my desktop image.

Here's a picture of one of my company's valve cores, sitting on a quarter:

Yeah, I know. That pile next to my monitor is mostly receipts for the last two or three years. Accounting is not my strong suit. You should have seen the office before I renovated. It was a HUGE mess. Granted, it was cleaner this morning. The kid has since brought a few things into the room (baby powder, a dish, Playdoh, binoculars, mom's shoes). The fact that I have clear counter space is a major accomplishment.

Here's my favorite room. The wife wasn't so sure about the paint colors when I suggested them, but I think it turned out really well. The kitchen is in the NW corner of the house, so we had to do something to brighten the room up. We have pictures of cactus flowers and hot peppers on the walls.

Here's a pic I found tucked in one of the picture frames:

Nice!

I did something similar in one of my bathrooms in my last house... but on the chair molding I painted a Southwestern pattern

That looks pretty good. We have plain beige walls. When we had the house built we wanted a nuetral color so we could figure out how we wanted to decorate. Kind of funny, colorless walls and really not a thing on then, very boring hahaha!

We have the same thing in our house. We have a pile of about 15-20 photos and other artwork to put up but haven't yet managed to do so. I kept saying that I would do it after I got my laser level. Well I bought that with a Lowe's gift card in January. Still the pics sit in the corner of the family room.
