I found this site today while doing a search on activities for my daughter while we are at home. It is great to find a place to discuss issues for SAHD.
My situation is very fortunate as my company allows me to work from home full time. My nearest boss is in AZ, I am in a Chicago suburb, and he only checks on me about once a week for status updates :)
My daughter Elizabeth is going to be 3 on Aug 16th, and we are expecting another in Jan. Beth had been going to a daycare provider while I was setting my schedule. After the daycare provider took a unscheduled two week vacation and I realized I could keep up with my work and look after her, we decided to can the additional expense and keep her with me.
Since all of my work is project work ( Inhouse Internet Marketing/ Website designer) I am looking to structure my day where I do some work, play/feed/crafts with Beth, some more work, repeat.
It seems to be working great, after her coming from daycare I managed to get her potty trained in a week, so the wife is finally a true believer and stops referring to me getting a "real job". Which was really funny since I make only slightly less then her, and when you add her commuting costs it is pretty much even.
Well that is enough about me I guess. I have poked around and I look forward to reading more about everyones experiences.
