Want your child to learn the alphabet shortly after they learn to talk?

My daughter learned the alphabet before she could say juice.

Ever since she was born I would sing the alphabet over and over again on the way to bed. In the car on trips. I would sing it slow, fast, I would sing it with different tempos and rhythms. I would sing it over and over again.

One day my daughter and I laid down to go to bed and she started right in... A... B... C.... D... and she made it all the way through and also sang Now I know my ABC's next time play with me....

We did this with our daughter all the time too, she just turned three, and recognizes every letter when shown to her on a flash card. She is even singing the alphabet to our 6 month old, so I dont have to sing it as much, she does all the singing for me.

I am trying to teach her to write her letters now. We sit at the table every couple of days and I write a letter, and then she tries her best to write it after me. She tries so hard, but still alot of work left. I want to teach her to read to, but I havent found the right aproach without using hooked on phonics or any other commercialized product. I want to see if I can do it on my own.
