Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson?

It's a toss-up, IMO. Peterson has the much better team, though, so he's not as essential to the Vikings as Johnson is to the Titans. Stop Johnson and the Titans are screwed. That's not necessarily the case with Peterson and the Vikes.

AP without question.

AP without question.

Really? Cj leads in yards with more carries and also has more receiving yards than AP.

CJ. He has a 6.4 ypc to AP's 5.1, plus AP is a fumble machine with 4 on the year to CJ's one. AP has more TD's, but CJ is on a much worse team.

He is their only option. AP's team has many weapons. Simple as that. All teams equal AP is my guy.

If Peterson did not fumble so much, he'd be leading the league in rushing. He lost a 50+ yard run due to a fumble.

Not to derail this thread but how about Mr. Favre? He is playing very well so far this year.

Yes he is, and I hate him.

J/k. Despite all the bs that went on, it's good to see him playing well and having fun. It's like an ex- that you want to hate, but find yourself feeling happy for in the end.

Now, the Vikings I can still hate. Who the hell plays in a dome?

I'd still take CJ.

I also would have to say CJ. Nothing really makes up for fumbling and AP can only run with the ball in his right hand. A better back can do both. AP also has a better line to run behind.

A love Brett Farve as he gives me hope for my childhood dreams of a super bowl win. The 70s were hard on me football wise!:icon_lol:

I'd still take AP over a 1 dimensional back any day. Your boy is definitely in the conversation though. His last 5 or 6 games have been great. Still, he is the entire offense. He's quick, but not physical. AP is quick and he's a beast. Ask any defender in the league who they would fear more. AP wins EVERY time. Salt or pepper, dumb or dumber, Mrs Dash or Mr Flash or whatever your boys name is, is still #2. Even the NFL analysts on ESPN agree with me.

I'm looking at this from an objective view. I'm not saying Stewart or another Carolina back is the best in the league. Aside from Farve I have no love for the Vikings.

Evidently you aren't looking from an objective view. He is quite physical and takes many a shots and keeps on going. The Houston game he pinballed around making what would have been a 3 yard run into a 22 by bouncing off 4 different players.

He throws some amazing downfield blocks which have allowed Young to make first downs on his runs, as well as making good blocks while having to pick up a blitzing backer.

AP is a beast, don't get me wrong. I am just saying that right now, CJ is the #1 running back in the NFL, and the stats are there to say so.

Oh, and not so one dimensional, he has quite a few reception yards as well.

Chris Johnson (http://www.nfl.com/players/chrisjohnson/profile?id=JOH127799)

Adrian Peterson (http://www.nfl.com/players/adrianpeterson/profile?id=PET260705)

So for a player that you state is the entire Titans offense he has 13 less carries than Adrian Peterson does.

Similar stats as far as attempts and so on. I do like the additional 3 TDs for AP though. :icon_wink: Johnston's yards and yards/attempt are great. No doubt he's a great player. He hasn't had the injuries this year that AP battled through. Spraining an ankle hurts. So he's doing what he does with a hurt body. No too bad.

AP scores TDs on turf and grass. Not so much for your boy. Again, one dimensional. He is dynamic as hell on grass though. I've seen many a highlight. Still, to answer your question I will go with AP. I'd like to know how many points for his team vs AP's points for his team vs the rest of the team there are. Make sense? I'm curious. I would bet that the titans have more offensive points from CJ than the Vikings do with AP.

Here it is:
CJ 30.5% of teams points.
AP 24.5% of team's points.

Only a 5% difference. That is my only issue with him. The Vikings have more options and therefore this gives CJ more points for his team. Both teams have great offensive lines. Some say that the Vikings' isn't as good, but AP makes them look good cause of what he can do. I tend to agree with that.

Either way I could care less really. Both are great backs who I'd LOVE to have on the Panthers playing QB. Really....our QB sucks monkey balls. It's getting depressing.

It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds though and see if CJ can set some great records. His record for the past 6 games is balls out. His O line is solid and he's quick.

That would be simplistic to look at it that way. I would bet the time of possession for the Vikings offense would eclipse that of the Titans. Therefore that comparison would be a joke. Be realistic. Just look at what Farve has done with that offense. Marching down the field seemingly on every possession. BTW- He is leading the NFL (pretty sure) in passing TDs. So much of the offense his team has (points) are attributed to him passing. IF the Vikings had one of the 2 or 3 starting QBs the Titans have (who are they going with now????) then I'm sure the numbers would be much different. Once a gunslinger, always a gunslinger.

Too many variables. It's a matter of preference and opinion. I'm not a TN fan so it's easy for me.

Gotta hand it to your boy. He's proven he is the top dog right now. In AP's defense, he is hurt and he's not at his usual level. Still got great production though, but your boy is a beast.

Thanks. I really wanted to see him break Dickerson's record, but....

I will take the records he did get anyways.

CJ today took over Marshal Faulks yards from scrimmage record, took over Earl Campbells franchise rushing record, became the 6th back to rush for 2000 in a season......

and became the only back to ever rush for 2k and receive for 500 in a single season.

And today he fought hard for those yards. Seattle was stacking the box with 8 or 9 all day.

He did accomplish quite a bit. You knew Seattle wasn't going to give him that record. It was asking alot too for him to get 200 plus yards in that game. Seattle didn't want to be in the highlight films for the next 3 decades. LOL.

Just for the record in AP's defense. He did finish with 4 more TDs (18) than your boy (14), but much less total yards. Also had 44 less attempts. CJ had 3 fumbles to APs 6. And CJ by far had the most dynamic plays for big yards. His YPG was amazing. AP's last 6 or 7 games were dreadful. Again I'm pretty sure it was due to his injury.

Still I would take either one in a heartbeat.

The Panthers WIlliams and Stewart were the first 1100 yard rushers from the same team in NFL history. We do have the best combo by far over your Dash and flash or whatever you call them. Then again I could have been next to CJ as a RB and together we could have had more rusher yards than Stewart and WIlliams. :icon_lol: I do like the backs for Carolina. And with Delhomme out it has been great. We have been winning!
