I've been meaning to ask you Patrick... You ever been to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA? Wife and I used to go there a lot many years ago for a day trip. We wouldn't mind going again sometime (It's a 4 hour drive for us, but I don't think it's as far for you)

Just something to think about in the future if you want to meet up 8)

Check in with these guys. i'm pretty sure they have a neighborhood group in the Burke area.

If they don't have a group in Burke, I bet there is something that is drivable. I used to live in NOVA and try to keep in touch form time to time. Actually lived a few blocks from where the Burke PO is now (wasn't there at the time).

Rambling again, need coffee!!! Good luck.

Yea that would be fun. I haven't been to Williamsberg in many years and Bush-Gardens as well. Maybe this fall before they close or something. Thanks for the offer.

I tried the DC metro dads a couple of times and get no responce. I think they are a tight group and my not want anymore people. Thank-you for the info however.

Busch Gardens might be a good future dadstayshome event. A friend of mine was just telling me how much he likes it. I figure it's and 8 hour drive for me. That's just about do-able if I break it up into 2 days.

Good luck finding a group Patrickz!

That surprises me. Are you "on " the group, or are you trying to get past the "guard at the gate?"

Try sending a note to Mike (he is the group owner). It may take a while for him to get back to you as his kids are now teens and heavily into crew and other team sports.

There might not be any action in the Burke area at the moment. I've seen a lot of chatter about the MD guys, but not much about the VA side.

Tried to send you a "pm" but it didn't seem to work. Guess I don't know how to make it go... anyway, here it is:

a new guy on another board is looking for another sadh(s) in the Burke area. Would you like me to pass on your email? (Unless you recently posted on another board - they you would get your own email.)

Anyway if I can pass on your info, send me your email...

edited your email to keep spam bots away from it :)

My 7-year-old's already got a playgroup, but I could sure use a DADs group in Portland, Maine!

Disability left me a stay-at-home father shortly after he was born, and I would love to talk to some others in my field.

Thanks,
