Youtube Help

Hello!

Any of you guys familiar with Youtube? If you are, here are a couple of questions:

(I want my family to be able to see video of my boys growing up, as they don't get to see them much. The videos are too large to send by email, thus the Youtube option.)

1. If I set my video as private, does my family have to do anything special to view them?

2. Why can't I embed the video in my email? I am on a mac using the built-in email (Mail) program, but my family just gets code when I try to send an embedded email. I can embed the same thing here, but it just doesn't work in the email. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's been awhile since I have done that, but if I remember correctly you should be able to set the video to private and then send an invitation to your family to view the link. Though, I can't remember if you give them a password to view it or if there is a link created with the permission when you send the email.

I haven't tried it, but I think you can set it to private and (shit I can't type. I've had too many beers today and it's taking forever to type this without mistakes....LOL) sent it to their emails or something. I have an account, but haven't done anything private. On mail, why don't you just send the file as an attachment? I've sent stuff to my parents like that and as you well know Canada is far from North Carolina. Good luck. It should be pretty simple to figure out the youtube option. I think that is slick. Also their is the mac option. I have a mobileme account and have a mac site I can put stuff on.

I just did a quick search and saw that you may not be able to embed the videos in email because a lot of email clients and webmail services block videos from being played. That might be a reason. Maybe someone else will know better.

I don't think mac mail allows you to embed html code (the code that youtube provides is html based)

Yeah, youtube videos can be set to "private" but then can only be viewed by 25 youtube members who are signed up as "friends."

As for the embedding thing, how is that different from attaching the huge attachments? Same issue, only now you've got compatibility issues on top of that.
