I finally have a pic of the sport court I have in my yard. It makes from fun in the summer and my ice rink will be a breeze to set up in the winter.

Not so much a DIY, I paid for the ashpalt. I found a great deal on ebay for the sport court tiles, brand new and only about 1/4 the cost if I bought from the manufacturer.
I laid down the tiles myself, not too hard. Those pic's are from when I first laid it down. Since then I moved about 12 tons of dirt, by hand, wheelbarrow, shovel, rake, not fun.
I can't afford anything else for a while.

Good thing is you can't see it from the road, my poor neighboor put up some bushes between our properties, I wonder why? hahaha!

They are plastic tiles that connect together. When you lay down 2100 of them they do not move, they do expand and contract some. Luckily they came in sheets of 16 so it took only a few hours.
I found a guy selling them on ebay and he happened to live only 1.5 hours form my home. So I saved on shipping and he offered me a great deal.
The tiles stay on in the winter, I just put my rink on top of them, you could actually freeze the snow right on top of them but i'll be using a liner.

Yeah I have seen that stuff. I researched a bunch of synthetic ice products a few years back. When I was down south I was considering putting some in my garage.
Once I saw a similar product on ebay at a really good price but it was not enough for me :) It was only a 10X30 area or something like that.
Amazing you can actually ice skate and do hockey stops on that stuff.

Pretty snazzy! Now you just need to find a good deal on a Zamboni.
