DVD Play Back on PC

Ok usually I can figure these things out. This one has me puzzled. When I play movies on my Vista machine The back ground noise is loud and the talking is very low. Watching things online (youtube, Netflix) are fine. I uninstalled the sound card driver and reinstalled, checked for updates and I also checked window media player for updates that were not required. Any advice is welcome.

I'd check if you have digital or analog enabled in dvd hardware settings, I had it wrong on mine once and it acted that way. Hope it's that easy for you. :chugchug:

This problem makes no sense to me. I can rip the dvd on to my HD and it plays just fine in Media player and VLC. Sao I will check that out too.
