I am kind of bored doing tech work, I have been in it going on 11 years now and there is no thrill left in it anymore. The only thing that kept me in this job is the fact my boss lets me work from home and it only takes me about 4 hours a day to get a full time paycheck.

I am going to intro thing tonight on real estate appraisal certification, one of my old time friends from the adult world made the switch to appraisal and he enjoyed it. I know others are looking for some kind of part time gig, I thought I might throw it out.

Not sure if it is for me, but its only a $35 buck commitment to go to the "this is what they do" thing tonight at the community college...

It was acutally very interesting, If I had gone last semester it might have been more feasiable for me.

They just changed the law to get to the level of certification you need an associates degree along with the required number of apprasial hours. You could be grandfathered in but you had to do it by Jan 1 2008, which with therequired hours and time frame would be impossible to start. I will probably take the class, and depending on your state laws it might still be a fit.

Before the law change it would have been easy to do one or two a week making 200-300 per eval at a average time frame of 5 hours per.

There is a startup fee for the various software and association memeberships that are needed but from what I put together it wouldnt be more then 2.5K unless you are without a laptop which would add to that a bit.

I will actually probably still take the classes just because I like to learn things, but I dont know if I can fit it in as a side thing yet.

Without the associates degree I would have to find a accredited appraiser who would be willing to review my work and sign off on it. Not sure if someone would do that part time or not.
