Help me out guys, I'm in deep sh!t right now. About a year ago I needed space on my workbench shuffling wine bottles or beer carboys or some such and stupidly put my wife's suitcase full of her childhood dolls and clothes on the floor. Basement floor. Damp basement floor.
We should have been wearing respirators to open the damn thing last night.
She's a bit irritated at me,
I've got everything soaking in oxyclean since I've had really good luck using it before, but its not working so good.
Anyone have any thoughts or tricks to get these things back to relatively normal?

You're in trouble. Mold's not an easy thing to get out of fabrics, and it can leave stains, even after you've killed the mold. My best suggestion would be to call your local ServPro and ask them for some tips.

well now youv'e done it. i would try vinegar you are going to need something with a high level of acids. i always try to mother nature type first so to speak. i would start with 3 to 1 with distilled water. and let them dry in the sun. good luck

They're cabbage patch dolls. Most of the clothing was hand made by her mom or grandma. Yeah, I'm still in trouble.
If you don't hear from me again, either the deadly black mold got me, or my wife did.

O maybe the wifey gets even, "Sorry Honey, I did not know your laptop was under my rear tire when I backed out of the driveway this morning, hahaha."

Thing is, her folks lent me the lap top. More likely would be "I'm sorry honey, I didn't realize straight bleach would ruin your kegs, and the hammer would break the carboys..."
Course, those were a gift from her too, so who knows!

Or more likely it'll be "Oh yeah? Well at least I didn't ruin your childhood memories!"

not sure if it will work, and I'd test to make sure it doesn't bleach the material, but I'd try simple green.

Good link, thanks Louis.
Sunlight did wonders on most of the stuff yesterday, but of course its raining today. God or fate does not want these things clean.
Jeff ebay might be an option, for sure, except for the hand made dolls.
Yeah, dollS.
Indy, I think I might update this thread every time she brings it up, how big do you think this will get?!?
Thanks again, guys!
