Last night I rented the movie Lord of the Rings (1st one) because I have yet to see any of them. So I popped it in. Well, I had company and some had seen the movie and others hadn't. My 3 and 4 year old were watching and I didn't realize there were some creepy animation... :lol:

Sammy was like ----> :shock: :shock: for 3 hours straight.

My daughter was like ----> :shock: ----> :? ----> :( ----> :shock: ----> :twisted:

I hope I didn't ruin them but they seem ok today... :D

There is some creepy animation in the first one, but the second and third have even more creepy animation, I wouldnt let them watch them either.

The first 5 minutes of Return of the King is down right disturbing if you didn't know the story!

How about star wars? Let your kids watch this?

I have the Episode II (the last one in the movie theatre). Alex likes watching it and it is pretty violent. He watches about 10-15 minutes max. He never really liked watching tv but is getting more into it now that he is older. Blues clues... One annyoyingly comical thing he got from the movie is he will pick up a stick/palm frawn and swing it around and make the light sabre noise. Its annoying because he wants you to hold one too so he can hit it with his. He picked that up after watching it once or twice.

You want to hear what is disturbing? I was gone with the kids and came home and my wife had been watching Schindler's List. It was like right in the middle of it and so my wife got up and came into the kitchen and we started talking about who was fed, who needed to be changed...... you know all that garbage.

Anyway the kids had gone in the other room and plopped themselves down in front of the TV. I mean.... I had no idea she was watching Schindler's List. So I start telling her stories about the day. After about 10 minutes my 4 year old daughter shreaks, and starts crying. She wanted to know what happened to the man.

I still had no idea and then my wife got this look on her face of terror. Then my 3 year old son starts yelling, "daddy... boo boo, boo boo , boo boo daddy... he got a boo boo".

I was not impressed! :shock: :shock:

That will happen to all kids sooner or later, it will have no long term effect on any of them, as long as it isnt a daily thing. Before the sopranos ended, we had people over every sunday night to watch the sopranos on the big screen, and they all would want us to keep the kids up for a while so they could see them, I told them they would have to come over earlier then, as soon as the sopranos started, the kids were upstairs and were not allowed back down.
