I lack upper arm strength quite a bit. I am not saying my arms are limp as a flag on a non windy day, but it would help if i had a tad bit more muscle on my arms. Mostly i want to impress the wife... its kind of her pet peeve that i cannot lift her and carry her off to bed like all the guys in movies seem to be able to. So i need a workout routine or something, any suggestions? Something i can do in my living room while watching the kids sleep

Push ups, Diamond, wide arms, off set (leave one normal push up spot and the other bring down around your mid section and switch and repeat), use your couch and do dips to work the tries, The other ones that I hate but can see a huge diff fast arm rotations to the side, front, straight up, arm presses. In the academy we did a lot of these things. We had one instruction that had T-Rex arms and could do the arm rotations for hours. We did arm rotations for 57 min to prove a point.

Troy posted basically everything i was going to.

Pushups and dips will honestly work your arms to where they ever truly need to be. No need for fancy equipment nor even barbells. Lifting your own weight is actually quite a workout for your muscles when it is focused down to one area.

Or if you never want to have sex again, tell your wife to drop some pounds so you can lift her.

Maybe that's not the best plan though.

Yeah, he might regret that one.

Make sure to stretch too; keep that back limber. Babies/toddlers are good workout equipment. I use my 2.5yo for bench press, curls, behind the head curls (I'm sure there's some technical name), etc. Makes it fun.

Yeah, I was gonna say something about potential weight loss ("Meet me half way, baby!"), but I don't think that would get you in good graces.

I used one of those over the door pullup bars and put 1/2 inch of beefsteak on my buggy-whip arms. Three sets of 8 reps three times per week for about a month. Unbelievable, but it works. The resulting pain is worth it.

There was a story about a fellow who used to do all kinds of stuff in his tiny condo kitchen to get big. Worked for him, but if I have to go through all of that effort I'm taking my bones down to the gym.
