Is there anything that you guys wont do around the house.
For instance I do pretty much everything I cook, I clean etc.
I dont shop and my wife does the laundry because she is so particular.
I dont mind shopping with her but I dont shop on my own.

I do almost everything. The only thing I refuse to do is clean up after my wife (taking her dirty dishes from the table or living room to the kitchen sink). [-X She tends to leave things around quite a bit, but knows I won't pick them up and eventually takes care of it. I hate folding laundry, but I do it anyway. I do 90% of the cooking, but I am also the better cook and really enjoy doing it. When I agreed to take on the stay at home role I pretty much resigned myself to doing every task there is. Not to say that I don't get help from my wife, but I will do just about any household chore. To me it's similar to when I had a normal job.....you may not like all of your expected duties, but they are part of the job description.

There's nothing that I wont do but there are plenty of things that I forget to do. :)
I clean and vacuum. Occasionally I cook although my wife's arrival time varies so much, its hard to make a meal for the two of us. I do the yard work as I always have. Occasionally I do laundry but my wife normally gets to it before me. She has a low tolerance for a full hamper of dirty clothes.
You know, it doesnt sound all that different than before we had a baby.
Its funny how many times I've thought about this topic...
The one thing I don't do is sew. Thats where I draw the line. I cook, clean, laundry which I detest, even the freakin' kitty litter (I don't like the cat) but I don't sew mend or otherwise wield a needle. Can't do it... I'd hurt myself.
I've often wondered how many sahm's do everthing from dishes to changing the oil and mowing the lawn, to small plumbing to renovation...
In my lower days I feel pretty underappreciated to be honest...
aaah well, like Marion says, all part of the job description, right?!?
(oh, and by clean, I do the day to day, but when Val gets a bug, man, she goes to town... hospital clean, I swear!)

But would you sew if you knew how? :?:
Good question... I passed home-ec.
Probably, I just don't have any desire to learn 8)

I pretty much do everything except fold the laundry, I cant stand folding the laundry, especially baby clothes, I hate folding laundry, and my wife once she starts cleaning it is the same way, hospital clean.

I hadn't thought about some aspects of this question when I first answered it. I'm pretty lucky with some chores that are normally the man's responsibility because of a perk of my wife's job. She is a minister and we live in the church parsonage, which is right beside the church. Our church custodian does our yard work as well as any home repairs that are required. Since I want our vehicles to still be running after receiving maintainance I take them to a professional. :D As far as sewing, we have a very sweet woman in our church who does any repairs of that type that are required and she always refuses payment. I do take care of the finances in our family, but I was also an accountant in one of my former working lives.

I do everything except laundry. If I do laundry I throw in only my clothes.
My wife has a problem and brings home bags and bags of clothes each day. Clothes are her problem now; not mine.
I will do dishes, pick up, sweep, vacuum, cook, and even wash the toilet.

In addition:
I used to feel like a girly man for doing all the chores. If my wife and I got in a fight I would be less apt to clean or do chores during the day... like I was getting back at her or something.
Now, I am so different than that. I realized I wasn't doing the chores for her but rather for me, and especially for my kids.

I just do all the chores so I wont go nuts with boredom when the kids go to sleep, and I like living in a clean house.

I do it all, even laundry but my wife does help out with that some. I do hate folding it! There's not much I won't do.
Hey laundry, I do that. You know what gets my goat though? She'll try something on, then decide she doesn't want to wear it. Instead of hanging it back up, she just chucks it in a pile. SO either I have to re-hang it, or re-wash it.

Oh, that is what I do, I put on a shirt, wear it for 5 or so minutes, then take it off to go shirtless or something, and I just chuck it in the laundry, wife used to hate it, but she doesnt do to much of the laundry anymore.

I do everyting top to bottom - Yard, Garage, Pets, Laundry, Cooking Everything. We do not sew though we are not a sewing family. I just consider it my job to take care of the house and kido. I used to feel as if I was doing the housework for my wife but, now I feel as if I am doing it for myself. I now enjoy having a clean house to look at and I take pride in my new job. When poeple come over they always comment on how clean the house is. I do everything. I even dusted for the first time a few weeks ago. Did you know you have to move pictures and other junk off of the mantle and entertainment center before dusting. What a tedious pain. I almost threw away all the candles and unecessary "nick nacks" . I think "nick nacks" means back stock for the next garage sale. I have recently began taking pride in the fact that my wife doesn't have to do anything around the house. Well, she does help me clean up after dinner but, that is voluntary.
Since I began staying at home there have been few to no arguments or disagreementsbetween my wife and I. I think having the responsibilities divided with a definite grasp of who does what has really helped our relationship. Have any of you noticed an improvement in your marriage since the SAHD decision was made?
I pretty much do everything in the house, but I draw the line at doing laundry. I gave the wife some advice..."I do laundry, there will be 2 piles, lights and darks...any questions?". Guess who does the laundry!
Now outside the house, I still do everything. The wifes jobs are as follows (fewer to name).
`Laundry
`Shopping
---------------------> That's it....Dad does the rest with the help of his children!!
I gave the wife some advice..."I do laundry, there will be 2 piles, lights and darks...any questions?". Guess who does the laundry!
I tried that, ya know what I got in response?
"ok"

My wife has issues on buying clothes. The entire third floor is piled high with her clothes. She could wear 1 outfit per day for 3 years and never wear the same outfit twice. You think I'm joking? She has a real serious problem. So I made a deal with her that I would do everything... EVERYTHING, but all she had to do was laundry and take care of all the clothes.
She has still yet to get it all under control and I am still doing everything else.
But she works so...........
