How do you get him to sit back down?

He can pull himself to standing and is even starting to cruise a little bit. But lately he pulls himself to standing in his play yard and stands there holding on and cries because he's stuck. (He also does it in his crib.)

I've been trying to pull his hands down to encourage him to sit down with limited success. Is there another way to encourage him to sit down from standing.

Or is this his attempt at conditioning us to pick him up whenever he wants it?

Kind of like the first time you rappelled down a cliff. Hung to that rock or belay rope and crapped your underwear untill ego or some task master forced you over.

This is why I'm happy to live in a very flat state--no worries about crapping my pants.

Our guy figured it out pretty quick, so I don't have much advice. But maybe instead of pulling his hands down, which would make me resist that motion and stand straighter, try unlocking his knees and guiding him down.

I know that whenever Jack falls, we make no reaction -- just keep on playing like nothing happened. Yesterday he fell in the driveway and scraped his knee (the first time!) and he didn't even cry. What a trooper!

Leah's such a daredevil, she plopped down right away too... She pulled herself up and started trying to climb right away too.
Good luck!

I'll put my money on that. :) He knows how to sit back down don't let him fool you.
This is Alex's most powerful trick. I give in to it every time because I can't get enough of him. :D :vom:
