I haven't known anyone who actively cheered for an NBA team. Even in Cleveland, Indianapolis and Detroit. It seems like ticket prices are way too high for the number of games played.

But maybe someone will notice. Anyone here?

My wife said that during the last championship series they were in she saw the crowd throwing up their arms for technical fouls, which don't exist in the NBA. College ball (and HS) is definitely king here. I was in Columbus, OH during the Randy Ayers days and it was a lot more like the NBA. You never knew what the team would be like because it was a crap shoot as to which players would be in jail any given week.

Thinking about the fan base for the NBA, it did come to mind that I know a lot more serious fans for NHL and even MLS teams than any pro basketball. But that could be because I was in Columbus. (most of the MLS fans I know are in Seattle and LA, though)

No, I wouldn't notice.

And I grew up playing a lot of basketball; 3 varsity letters and then during college and aftewards I was in 5 leagues at once, played against Steve Kerr and Sean Elliot among others. Loved the game. Got tired of the hoods, and the bad attitudes. I still help out kids groups but the only team I follow is the Red Wings (its between periods in the Toronto pre season game right now).

The NBA is a disgrace.

N.B. what?

Honestly, I think overall the NBA has the best athletes in the world and basketball is a great sport but somewhere I have a disconnect with pro basketball.

I used to watch once in a while, but the Pistons have fallen apart in recent years.
