OK boys, what has taken so long? Who are you picking and what are your plans for the game?

I am predicting the Giants win by 10 points.

Having a gang of about 18 family and friends here to watch the game. My Dad, who is celebrating his 79th birthday here tomorrow, and Step Mom will be joining us. We have 2 sets of numbers for the game from a bar on LI. Might be interesting if my numbers interfere with a Giants loss. Sorry honey! At $200 a box we are talking big money possible.

I think the Pats will whomp the Giants, but no fiber in my being will root for them this Sunday or any other Sunday.

Go G-men!!

FIL usually has a super bowl party, but just as any other Sunday I'm Duty Officer for the FD starting at 6:00pm. Wife and kids will probably go and earlier in the day I'll make a batch of Jumbalaya for me, myself and I.

I'm hoping for another upset by Eli and the Giants. I have to admit I don't hate Brady but his coach is a scumbag.

A couple of points about the Super Bowl. If you really dislike Peyton Manning you have to root for the Giants and Eli. Peyton would friggen lose it if he ends up having fewer Super Bowl rings than little brother despite what the psycho is saying. His behavior in Indy during Super Bowl week reinforces that for sure. It is all about Peyton.

Also I heard on a NY sports radio station yesterday that Modell's sporting Goods is planning to open their stores right after the game IF the Giants win. Must suck if you work there. You probably have to show up at halftime regardless to set up the store and if the Pats win they send you home without being able to enjoy an event your company makes money off of. God forbid people had a little patience.

Giants spanked the pack so Pats by 4 in the 7th.

What doing? I have to wash my hair.

Patriots by at least a TD. I am torn though as both teams I admire. Wish the Redskins had that much team passion in them. Gonna brew and fire up the crock pot with some good old stew or chili...:chugchug:

Yup. Lots of dropped balls. Gronk hurt really decimated NE as they didn't have the weapons. Three targets? He usually gets that on one possession. NE should have won by 6 or 10. Oh well. My horse left the race weeks ago. Pretty boring game. I was struggling to stay awake.

Eli MVP? Did he even have 1 TD pass? :icon_lol: he did have a couple of great series, but so did Brady. Hell if Brady's TE and WRs could catch they would have easily won. Was it manningham who made that catch on the sideline? Now that was MVP. Sweet.

Great game and a great time with the neighbors and family last night. FU Peyton!! Love watching the funeral on the local Patriots stations this morning. I think Belacheck (sp?) out douched himself last night by ducking the media until after the National TV coverage was shut down then gave his usual drab answers to the media to fill his obligation. I am friggen tired today and can't wait for bed time tonight.

Ifs and woulda shouldas. C'mon, the better team won fair and square. And when games go to the last few seconds and you have an interest in who wins it is a bit more exciting. NE was lucky to be in the Super Bowl. They stole the last game against BAL with bad ref calls.

Any Superbowl that goes down to the last couple of mins is a good one and I enjoyed it. We decided to go to some friends house and watch with 7kids under 8......:icon_lol: :pals:
Wify loves Brady and I admire both Qbs so a win win for me. What was with all the 12men on the field 3times? And the two fumble self recoveries by the giants. Football and Luck go hand in hand but who can capitalize on that fortune will have a better time of it. :icon_wink:
Good for you Eli you are now an elite winning QB in the NFL!

I heard some talking heads talking about whether Eli was an elite NFL QB winning yesterday or not. They all said no. He doesn't have the stats according to them like his brother, Brady, yada, yada, yada. I say BS. The only stats that really matter to me in all pro sports is post season stats. That is when the best play the best and the stakes are really high. You see "elite" pros padding stats against cupcakes all season long only to fold in the playoffs. See A-Rod. There are dozens more.

She looked good, considering I was in high school when she released her first hit. The stage was quite elaborate, compared to like,The one Prince had.

The 13-3 team is lucky to be in, while the 9-7 team that will forever have Kyle Williams on their xmas card list is more deserving? Rich homerisms, dude!

Ugh, my butt still hurts from sitting on the couch for so long, staring at the screen in sadness after it was over. Life goes on....

Anyway, after much thought, it came down to this in me eyes: Manningham makes the great catch, Welker doesn't. The game was largely even. A different result on either play would've produced a different winner. Pretty good game overall, though.

Pretty much.

I still have not heard why the Giants player did not take a knee on the 1 yard line after being told to do so before scoring that last TD. Did his wallet tip him over the goal line? Who knows? He is one lucky dude that they held on to win. Had they not it would have been worse than the punter not kicking the ball out of bounds against the Eagles last year to close out a game that lead to a run back TD that cost the Giants a playoff spot (and let the Packers in and the rest is history). The Giants punter was stellar.

True story. Saw him celebrating after the first one and thought, that's a little odd for a punter. But he did have a fairly major impact. Good on 'em.:chugchug:

no friggin way. You run that ball into the endzone with gusto and take the f*cking points. OK... say he takes a knee and then what. What if the kicker boots the field goal? Bad snap? Blocked?

Take the points and let the defense do their job. You dont rely on a field goal if you dont have to.

They had the 1st down and they would have let him score on the next play. But the Giants would have eaten more time off the clock and/or made NE use another time out. That was one hell of a long minute. And Cubby had us thinking he did not care about the game. :eusa_hand:

For a second there you had me thinking you were describing your post Madonna half time experience.

Madonna's production was pretty good. I still can't understand her relevance though. It's over Mo. I predicted by the end of the month she will be rooming with Demi Moore at Demi's rehab clinic. :chugchug::chugchug:

I agree with what you're saying. Not sure they were thinking along those lines, that they would have to let them score on the next play. Anyway, if they dont score a TD, it still comes down to a FG. And field goals get botched.

All that scheming and pseudo-strategy, then you start looking like the NBA with all the fouling in the last few seconds. Cant stand that shit, play the game.

I didn't mean I didn't care about the game. I watched every play. What I meant was that I didn't care of the outcome. I'm not vested in either the NE or NY. I dont 'hate on' certain teams and cheer for the other. (well, just the White Sox).

Had a chat about this earlier today. Is Dan Fouts elite? Marino? Terry Bradshaw? The first two were great passers and have no rings. TB has four but had mediocre stats. Both he and Eli benefit from some superb defenses--the best ever in TB's case. Would you take Eli over Brees or Brady if you were starting a team from scratch?

Interesting discussion no matter what.

Just got back from Kohl's with a few Giants Super Bowl Champs garb for the wife. What a good Jets fan hubby I am! I had to laugh by the dearth of stuff available. If the Pats had won it would have been wall to wall garb available. Remember, I am in no man's land. I would estimate that 50% of the fans here are Pats fans with the Giants getting about 40% and the Jets getting 10% of the rest. The supermarkets were all dressed up with Patriot football balloons and displays only to have them magically disappear overnight. Still a lot of grumbling by the local sports media and from what I am hearing it is even worse further North.
