Hiya all, those of you with toddlers, do you have a sandbox? We're looking at a "Step2" one with an umbrella and all that, but wondered what if you guys have any?
My biggest resistance to a sand box is the whole freeforall cat litter germ nasty :vom: stuff ...
I know, I'm part crazy, but hey whachagonna do?

We have one of the little tikes sand boxes (looks like a turtle) and it has a lid that goes on it when not in use. That was our concern too since we have a cat but the lid stays on really well.

We have a castle with a lid, as stated, cats were a concern. My oldest, 4.5, loves it and now our 10 month old also likes to get in and feel the sand. Funny to watch, just keep those hand out of the mouth, yuck.

We have the castle with a lid. It is currently out of commission and needs some work done on it. We are in our wet season, which amounts to 1 to 2 inches of rain every afternoon (usually between 5 PM and 5:30 PM) in a furious storm. My son left the lid off and it became a cesspool. It then didn't take long for bugs to get into it. I am going to have to replace the sand and rig some sort of drain hole that won't let all the sand escape. Any ideas on how to rig it?

We have that exact same one. The sand box lasted about a weekend for us and our son lost interest. It is now a flower garden for my two kids. We made it a "humming bird" area for them to watch.
