I was wondering if there was a common age group that Stay at Home Dads fell in. So I am curious as to how old everybody is.

When I was 27 I went around and told everybody I was 25 for the longest time until my wife picked up on it and said, "you do know you are 27 right?"

I just turned 36 this month. Sounds like I'm right at average for this group! I can live with being average.
... where does it put the rest of us? ... below average for being younger, or above average for you all being older?

It put's you young fellers right where you should be. I think late 20's is the Ideal age to have children. But in society today people are waiting to get married and are not doing so till their late 20's. Then they DINK (double income no kids) for a few years... then they start a family...then maybe god won't give you one...and vwala your 37. I'll be 57 when my son will be 20. I would rather be 47... but better late than never.

I am 31. Yeah I had my first one when I was 29. That is the best time. You know if you have your children when you are older (late 20's) you are supposed to live longer statistically.
I would bet that everybody on here would have their kids later so that our wives could persue their own goals before the kids came...

My first one came in when I was 29!
I wanted to be a dad by the time I was 30. I made it by 8 days. I'll be 31 in December.

I didn't get married until I was 31. I got my first kid at 33, and, thanks to the foster care system, became a grandpa at 35. I already have a 20 year old who has come back home for the second time, this time with her baby. I guess I just decided to make up for lost time and use the express lane to parenting!
I really don't think I could have handled being a parent much younger than I was. I wasn't responsible enough yet. By the time I was in my 30's I was finally as ready as I was going to be.

Yeah we are seeming to be the minority, anyone under 30, but nowadays the minority's voice is heard above all others, lol......

Us old guys just had more years of serious partying in before settling down and having kids. No, not really -- I wish I had some wild adventures that had kept be single all those years. But no. Just waiting for the right woman I guess.
