I sense there are a few web-guys on this board, we are looking for a reliable web-host as ours has started flaking on us.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Depends on your needs.

If reliability is your #1 concern, I'd recommend Verio. I've had a server with them for close to ten years and never had any down time (except maybe 10 to 15 minutes when they're upgrading something).

Godaddy's not bad, but they're a little laggy sometimes and they don't seem to be as tech savvy as Verio. I've had a couple of sites hosted with them for about a year now and we've had a few outages. Never lasted more than a day, though.

I've been using Westhost (http://www.westhost.com) for three years, and have had very good service and reliability from them.

I have been very pleased with my host, Startlogic.

Here is a link (http://www.startlogic.com/products_prologic.html)

Very reasonably priced and 24/7 support.

What are your requirements? Linux or windoze? How much space? Need databases?

I use httpme.com and powervps.com and both have been great with service and support.

For windows I can also recommend infuseweb.com.

If your not looking for much PM me as I could probably get you some space on my VPS server (Virtual Private Server) it's like a dedicated but cheaper.

Depending on what you need... I can provide hosting.

PHP / MySQL, CGI, FTP, POP3, Cpanel, Fantsitco, etc....

Or you can try HostGator.com (http://HostGator.com)

You could try Siteground.com that is who www.daddyplace.com is with. I haven't had any downtime at all. Really good rates too.

We live in Strawberry Plains... It's a really small town, but I love it here. It's 10 mins outside of Knoxville. It's cool to see a fellow Tennesean.

How are you liking them so far? Ive never had any problems yet.

I use pagebuzz.com

I haven't had any problems but they don't allow FTP access so if you're looking for that - you can't use them.

But, if you know html, you can manually change the html using their editor or just use the editor to create the pages for you.

I like them because they have tons of features and no bandwidth limits.

Recently I've been using ClearDev.com (http://www.cleardev.com) and been pretty happy with them. Their pricing is pretty good, they have automated installers for popular open source apps, and they are very reliable. I've had a few minor outages, but nothing really notable.

I have over 30 websites and use many different hosting accounts. Depending on your needs, www.ziggyhost.com has a great plan for only $9.99 a year. Don't let the price fool you, while it is dirt cheap I have had better luck with them and my up time then with my accounts I pay $120 a year and more for.

The customer service support is A+ as well. The few times I had questions I was speaking with the owner the very same day.
