Monitor/Computer - Odd Noise.

The screen occassionally (frequently) makes an odd sound. dit-a-dit, dit-a-dit, dit-a dit and lines appear across the screen which distort the picture. Aside from someone sending morse code does anyone have a suggestion as to what might be happening here.

A clue that might help is the system does the same thing when the cell phone is about to ring.

Sounds like basic interference. Our Nextel phones do the same thing to my desktop computers. Any time the cell phone broadcasts something, the computer does that. I have to move the phone about 10 feet away.

Remember kids, cell phones aren't cooking our brains. Perfectly safe.

Could it be the gov't tapping into your emails? :wink:

There's that great scene in the book Cryptonomicon where the guy figures out a way to read what a person is typing on a computer through a wall, by reading the electro-magnetic shifts in the monitor as it displays the characters..... or something like that.
