Hey all,
I'm trying to start a dad-kids playgroup in Tulsa. I've never been to a playgroup before, so I need advice/ideas for this venture.

1) Where is a good place to meet?

2) Any other advice/suggestions?

we meet at the park usually, it's the nicest one in Corpus, lots to do, also not too bad of a drive for everyone. I've also had a few playdates at the art museum, they have a kids room, free admission on certain days as well, good for bad weather days. I've been trying to get our playgreoup to meet other places, but a number of the mom's are preggo so it's a no go right now  there are also some hikinh trails that would be fun around here. I'd say really anyplace is a good place, as long as it's not overly dangerous, also you have to keep in mind how much of an eye you have to keep on em, like if you have one kid it might not be a problem, but if a dad has 3 or 4 then it becomes harder for that dad.....

would there be a difference between an all dad's and one that isn't, for what they do that is?

There could be... dads are probably more likely to do an activity together, like going to Incredible Pizza. Moms like to chat, so they might be more likely to sit around the house and talk.

That's what they want us to think. I bet that fifteen minutes after the last Dad leaves the area, the Chippendales arrive and start mixing Cosmopolitans in the altogether!

the playground thing is very popular, on a rotation.
-also we utilize story times at the local libraries and barnes and noble.
-playgroup at someone's home with everyone bringing a snack
-we do zoo tots, a program at a local zoo geared to toddles, you could check to see if that is an option
-if you have a local mall, check to see if they have a gymboree gym, they do a playgym with music and stuff, very cool for the kids, they can climb, throw hoops, dance, do bridges and slide
-we do fun nights once or twice a month....this month is bowling this thursday
-and of course there are always birthdays scattered through out each month so once you get b'days nailed down, you can have parties at one anothers houses.
-there is a childrens museum here that never gets old
anyway sorry for rambling, if i think of some others i will post them for you

Seriously?

As I've found out before, it's hard to see if one's tongue is in one's cheek through a computer screen. :)
