If the Presidential election was today who would you vote for? This is not who you think will win but rather who gets your vote.
Yeah, you know I shy away from political discussions, but I'll tell ya this much... not Bush, sorry. My vote was with "other"

Bush won't get elected again ;You guys are stoned. you'll need a new government and a lot of time and some international intervention (like there is a waiting list of countrys lineing up to support you ) To get you out of this mess Bush has gotten you in. True the U.N has no teeth with out the U.S but to under mine world council after 50 years and a lot of respect bad call. let me remind you
After refuseing any more time for wepons inspectors and diplomecy through U.N
Bush Quote "the Uniited States doesn't need anybody permission"
After the start of the gurilla war.
Bush quote "Bring it on"
After refuseing any more time for wepons inspectors and diplomecy through U.N
Bush Quote "the Uniited States doesn't need anybody permission"
The US did not need anyones permission because of the UN resolution that was santion from the first Gulf War, and is still in effect today.
He did refuse more time for the weapons inspectors and diplomacy through the UN because, the UN has taken 10 years AFTER the first Gulf War. The UN did not, and I can not word this any strongly, DID NOT send in anymore weapons inspectors and obviously the diplomacy did not work in that timeframe.
Damn..10 (ten) years and the UN could not come up with a solution. And for Bush's statement, "the United States doesn't need anybody permission", is exactly what it is. We are a governing body of the UN and there was and still is a Resolution in place that stated that if they do not produce invoices of weapons, allow unrestricted access for weapons inspectors, and sit and talk, then the UN governing body could and would take action.
I think waiting 10 years to make the resolution complete was more than ample time to show that the talks with the UN and lack of access to the inspectors was more then justifiable for the US to do what the UN would not.
All Bush did was follow the mandated UN Resolution that the governing body all voted on and approved.

I think, if I read what you wrote correctly, that you missed the point on what happened. We went into Iraq because of a certain amount of hysteria that was generated after 9/11, a president that was willing to abuse that, the false notion that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and a president who had an agenda from the begining of going into Iraq (he just had to figure out how...)*. Reguardless of if Bush mislead us on that issue or not. If I were to tell a theatre to "Get out of here, there is a bomb in here!" and then afterward say "I just wanted to get you out". I would be pissed and I am.
*This was written in several books by his own party officials who resigned in disgust. Chief among them was Bush's former terrorist czar.
I highly recomend for people who sit on both sides of the isle to watch some of the speaches from the Democratic National Convention.

Here are some of the highlight speaches in my eyes:
Clinton

Gore
http://www.dems2004.org/site/apps/nl/content3.asp?c=luI2LaPYG&b=125919&ct=158741
Sharpton

Edwards

Kerry

I am a political nut so I probably watched all of them but those above are the ones I liked most.
I can't wait until the Republican convention so I can contrast their views and reinforce why I and everyone else who isnt rich should be a democrat!
I do have to agree with you there....that was misleading to why we went into Iraq. That was when he pulled out the Resolution card. IF he would have said that from the beginning, who knows what might have happened.
And thank you for those links!

Dad of two, I like the Clinton speech. If I were an American I would defenitly be a Democrat. I hope your election goes well, with out terrorist or political interferance. That there is a clear winner, that uprising in iraq stops so that your troops may return home as soon as possible.
