From the internal newsletter of our local hospital
Brahms Lullaby announces new arrivals at SMDC
Few moments are more memorable than the birth of a baby - and beginning in June, families at SMMC's Birthplace will be able to share their joy hospital wide with a rendition of the Brahms Lullaby.

Soon, families will be greeted at the Birthplace by a cheerful stork cutout that is the official "keeper" of a button families can push to play the Brahams Lullaby after the birth of a child. The song will then play softly on the intercom system throughout the hospital.

"We thought this was a wonderful way to share the joy of our births with everyone in the hospital," explains Birthplace Nurse Manager Marilyn Sorenson, RN. "We think families will enjoy spreading the news of their new arrival, and I'm guessing many families with older children will let them share in the excitement as "official" button pressers."

The lullaby system will be controlled by nursing staff, and available to families during normal hospital visiting hours. So keep your ears open for our new arrivals!

Oh that is neat.

My wife and I have had all 3 of our kids at home by choice. We picked a really nice lady with her assistants. They aren't the stereotypical earthy type. They are quite different and almost act as Roving Doctors or something.... still very professional.

With my first child I was scared to death, but by the time the 3rd came I was quite relaxed.

Sometimes, I look at the "who's looking at what" list and you can see people trolling thru old threads. This one bubbled-up and I 'connected'. 6 years though, that's probably a personal best. :icon_lol:

Guilty as charges ya Honor! Even more so based on his last post. I had no idea that could be done.

I just wonder if he is sitting in his tub or jacuzzi enjoying his newer and better hot water while surfing the web?

The hospital we had the babies at now has a billboard about five miles from the hospital that scrolls the names (first and middle), lengths and weights of the babies born in the last week. My wife goes out of her way to sit at the light near it and keeps track of how many were as big or larger than our boys. What a bizarre hobby. But the billboard's cool.

Wouldn't that be nice!

God, if OTB get's big again in NYC, I might finally get paid. (I did work for a company doing work for NYC OTB and that company hasn't made enough to pay me yet. I know since the software I wrote for them calculates their profits.)

But nope. It's definitely the hospital.

I wonder if the hospital ... Nah. :morons:

They should play something more catchy like that crappy Creed song...or maybe Billie Jean, if they don't know who the dad is...

...my wife also just suggested "my daddy gave me a name" as another alternative for the situation where you don't know who the dad is...or maybe the theme song of the Maury Povich show?
