Was just another possible idea to trade some tunes around. I was wondering if anyone had the soundtrack to Gods & Generals, so we could see how far a music trade would go.

maybe some covert mp3 swapping ;) I have a bunch I, umm, obtain, using winamp and a plugin that rips the streams. Sometimes the quality is not great and there are fade in's from othe rsongs, but it's free :)

THIS IS NOT SPAM.

There is a website called www.musicalfamilytree.com

It's full of Indiana bands(Indiana Ties at least)

All free MP3's

This is independent music. So you won't find the latest Bon Jovi songs.

But you can find some really cool bands.

for example if you like
Modern Rock try
Margot and the Nuclear So & So's (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=81&song=06%20Barfight%20Revolution,%20Power%20Violenc e.mp3)
More into Country? try Chevy Downs (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=316&song=02-CD-NotPuttin.mp3) or Otis Gibbs (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=383&song=I%20Wanna%20Change%20It.mp3)

There are literally thousands of free MP3's here (many live performances but many high quality recordings from really good artists

Toungue Tied (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=385&song=01%20Never%20Change.mp3)

Mysteries fo Life (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=392&song=02%20Feel%20My%20Way.mp3)

The Prom (http://www.musicalfamilytree.com/song.php?album=163&song=2%20Living%20In%20Darkness.mp3)

This is not spam either!
I run the International Fair Use Day site (www.fairuseday.com).
One of the things I like to post on the site is links to free music. I do that because there is a good deal of really great music out there that people (artists) really want you to have, download, listen to, share, copy....etc. Posting that kind of content helps to draw people to the site and hopefully learn about fair use rights but if they just follow the links to the free stuff thats good too, the artists get their music out and the folks get to experience good tunes.

It's not all great but then neither is the crap I hear on the radio so no loss there.

although it's my web site, i have no ad's and i dont ask for donations so I hope you'awl dont think this is shameless self promotion even if it is. I pay for it out of my pocket.

Enjoy!

Thought you might find that interesting Jay.

okay, first you have to change the google video to .avi format, scroll down a little on this page http://www.tavisjohn.com/nuke/index.php and it lists virtual dub and gives the download site, also takes you through it step by step, the only thing he doesn't mention is when you open the program go to video>compression, and you'll have to change that, I don't remember now which one worked so you'll have to play with it. After you get it to .avi format you have to rip the music from it, a lot of programs will do it, I used a trial run of advanced X video converter, I'm sure there is something free but I haven't found anything yet, after you rip it I believe it is wave format, use dbpoweramp to convert to mp3, here's a link to advanced x video converter http://www.aoamedia.com/extract_audio_track.htm

also this place lists quite a bit of freeware http://majorgeeks.com/downloads32.html

also http://www.sourceforge.net has tons of freeware

the ad x worked great, but like I said it was only a trial and wasn't free :(

Isn't there an option on this messageboard to prevent guests from posting? Seems the spambots have picked up on us.
