In the PC world it's "defrag defrag defrag" I can find no reference to defragmenting hard drives in any of my Mac lit or help files. I use and delete huge files every day, and I'm a little worried about my hard drive's health. Any insight from more experienced Mac user? and what does Onyx do anyway.

As a long time Mac user...
Assuming you are using 10.x.x you should not have to worry much about defragging.

Haven't defragged a hard drive in over a decade. And as a photographer, I'm constantly working with 15GB - 150GB files. No worries, mate.

I was a Mac disciple for many, many years. Finally had to go PC for my wife's work (and can't afford 2 computers). I really miss the elegance and simplicity of macs a lot. <sigh>

defrag is not necessary in the mac world....it takes care of itself, thank goodness
