Wyatt is convinced that any time spent on his tummy is pure torture. I lay on my stomach with him and talk and try to console him. We bring him toys, mirrors, try before naps and after, doesn't seem to make a difference.

All the magazines say they need tummy time so he's on his tummy screaming a couple times a day.

Any suggestions on how to get him to settle down and just play?

None from me, just my condolences. They really don't enjoy it until they get strong enough to hold their head up and look around. Tara finally got into sucking on her hand and that made the time go faster. Do you put him on a multicolored blanket?
just a though
good luck!!

I just let my kids cry and fuss! He will stop soon enough. Just keep playing with him on the floor.

I know. They are tough. Still I just can't help but think he's laying there screaming "Daddy, why do you hate me???":(

I guess the good news is I don't remember anything before I was 4 years old, so hopefully he won't either.

I cant stand laying on my stomach either, my wife sleeps on hers, but I feel my ribs poking out and hitting the floor, drives me nuts, maybe just a few of us are born like that, and wyatt is joining the small ranks of us back layers.....lol Maybe I have drank one to many of my homebrews while cleaning today.......

We do the tummy time with Jackson, but he's a big head-lifter and seems to enjoy it, or at least tolerate it. Today at the doctor (his 2 month vaccines, the trooper) he even started to lean back on one arm, and casually lounge there looking up at us. The doc had to laugh... all he needed was a beer.
