We were at the zoo this evening burning off some energy. When we were ready to pack up and head for home and dinner (I do most of the cooking, by the way) we were trying to decide what to have for dinner. The best we could come up with was spaghetti and zuccini. I suggested a local pizza joint, fairly cheap, good beer, kid friendly atmosphere.
As we were driving we were going over our options as eating out is kind of a splurge for us we wanted to make sure where we wanted to go. Tara was in a great mood, she got to push the stroller around the zoo, so we thought maybe one of the more fancy joints. We finally decided on the Green Mill (kind of gourmet pizza and italian fare, very good) when my loving wife, bless her heart, suggests Timber Lodge. Its a regional (I think) steak joint. Happens to be my favorite steak joint. Whooohoooo!
Don't worry guys, I'm getting somewhere with this....
So we go in, there's no wait, we get seated right away and get our order in. Tara is eating super well, scarfing veggies, chicken, milk, water, water milk, had a sippy cup full of juice at the zoo... see where I'm going?
Dinner was great, just what I was wanting, nice 12 oz sirloin, medium medium rare, tender... MMMMMMMMMM
Tara was an absolute trouper, no hootin' and hollarin' just sitting there playing and eating nice, letting momie and daddie talk and otherwise being her normal good self. Yeah, we're pretty lucky, she's usually a very happy toddler when we're out and about...
Ok, here's the good part... if you're not me
Go to pick her up out of the highchair and... wow... her lap is kind of wet...hon, did she spill? ... no...
She's still smiley chatty, I pick her up and she is absolutely soaked through down to her shoes! Both of us were absolutely amazed she didn't start crankin', goodness knows I'd be.
SO I get to carry her to the bathroom at the steak joint... no changing station, small sinks, and there is NO way I use the floor in a mens room, ya know?
To end a long story, there was a decent bathroom in the adjoining hotel, luckily still cary a clean jumper "just in case" and we're probably not going to give her that much to drink in one sitting on one diaper again...
