Today I am 29. :D
I am heading for the fridge for a nice cold one. It is only 10:42am.
If anybody wants to join me I will check back in every once in a while for the next few hours. Tonight my wife is taking me to a nice restaurant. I am not sure which one though... it is a "SURPRISE"!
Better not be Wendy's.

Thanks Don! :D
One more year and I will be real old.
Oooh, whats the restaraunt right across the river in Brewer, right on the water's edge... we had a great meal there, and their steak was really good!
Happy birthday ya old fart! Two months older then I!
Oh, Val picked up a 1.5L grolsch bottle with a couple of glasses, and her dad and I drank it over lunch... Cheers to ya!
:partyman:
Dat's one of the reasons I love my wife, she didn't get it for the beer inside, she got it so I can put my beer inside once its empty! :D :supz:
Soapy? Probably used soap to clean his bottles or equipment. Its very hard to get soap residue off effectively.
Dunno otherwise.
Hey, if you dig your results from Mr. Beer, you'll probably LOVE upgrading a bit. But, if you dig your results and don't want to, thats cool too!
Ya end up doing a bit more work, but I think its worth it (this from a guy who never tried using mr beer, much less brewing with it)

Happy birthday Rem. 29, eh? Trying to make me feel like an old man? Geez. My back started giving me trouble a month before my 36th birthday, and it hasn't let up since. Starting to feel oooollllddd.
Mr. Beer
Man, this topic seems to pop on on each forum! Maybe it's time we set up a whole category for this!
I had fun with Mr Beer precisely because its pretty low key. You know you may be cutting some corners, but the end result is not bad at all. I just love the simplicity of it.. lets me play without getting yet another hobby that costs $$$.
Besides, I just picked up a new table saw, and I don't think the brewing and power tools combine well. OUCH.

Oh yea... I got another year before I am old...
Once I turn 30 it is over. I went to a nice restaurant last night and had a really good time. All day long I kept telling myself I was still a young pup. I would try to picture all the guys I knew that were older that were still in great physical and mental shape.
Then it happened. I rolled out of bed this morning and pulled a muscle in my back. I remember pulling my back out after I played a long game of soccer or something and not just getting out of bed in the morning...
It is not bad but I have to sit down to tie my shoes.
Happy BeLated BDAY!!
Better late than never! Wow the big 2 9 . Life is ALMOST over for you.... Good thing that I am joking! Most of us would be in some serious trouble bout now!
What did you do for your bday? Get a Dad Day Out?

Actually my wife and her brother took me out to eat at a nice restaurant. We had a really good time and just relaxed. They kept asking me, "so what else you want to do?" And I was like, "uh.... nothin'!"
Then I had to go to grammy's and pick the kids up and take them home..

That's all we did for my birthday. Loved it. Oh and my wife made me cupcakes (this AWESOME recipe from Cook's Illustrated: vanilla cake with chocolate genache frosting.. YUM.)

I turn 29 on Jan 1st. We never really do anything special on my birthday, the whole country is celebrating the night before, so we just go out and have some fun, the day of my birthday usually consists of alot of water and excedrin, a blanket on the couch watching football!!
