I know I'm slow to the party, but wow, do I ever love this Mame32!

For everyone like me, this is a small program that emulates alot of old systems, including the stand up arcades that literally picked all the quarters out of my pants as a unsupervised child. I've also never owned a gameboy or NES in those old days, and it does them as well.

Of course, it's illegal to download the ROMs (the ACTUAL games) so don't go to rom-world.com.

I finally finished 1942.. ha ha.. hahaaha.. mouhahahaa. ok. I'm better.

I can see why people have built arcade cabinets with 17 in monitors tilted and mounted inside, and setup up special controllers. It's like stepping into the Wayback machine.

Any arcade fans out there care to share their favorite quarter muncher? NO Pac-Man responses allowed! doo dew dew. :)

occassionally on teamspeak when playing battlefront 2 i blert out lines from gauntlet.....red wizard needs food badly. Remember, don't shoot the food. Use keys to unlock doors.

definitely good times.. and consdering half the kids in my battlefront clan are under 20 they have no clue. lol

I won an Atari 2600 from captain crunch when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old :D My bros and I spent like 10 hours one day flipping defender like 3 times. Kaboom was another favorite and pitfall harry rocked.

We had Gauntlet in our school cafeteria along with Chexx hockey, we never ate lunch.

I would LOVE to own a full standup Gauntlet... Too expensive at this point for my to get one or create one.

My Sister In Law has a Ms Pacman standup and was just given TRON!!! They are thinking about getting rid of tron and if they do I AM ALL OVER that.

TRON Light Cycles were crazy Cool

OOoh I would be too.. I loved Tron.. I even got the special edition Tron movie just for Bill Bixby's commentary (not that great, but the deleted scenes and fixed coloring was awesome)

Do you remember they also had Tron Discs or something ? It was just the disc arena. Eventually the rings would disappear, so you had to keep moving as well fight the computer opponent. Good Times.

With flatscreen lcds from Dell becoming so cheap, and these games running on barebones PCs, building a cabinet would be relatively cheap.. Then decorating it would be a blast.. where's my Space Invaders stencil ?

Glaga and Phoenix; with the sounds of cheap coin-op pool tables in the background and Tom Sawyer blasting from the jukebox.

Back before we had an arcade in our small town, all we had was Space Invaders (table version) in our Pizza Hut! We thought we were big time when we could go play lots of games in an arcade. I know it was dorky, but I wasted way too many quarters on Frogger!
