Don, I hope this is OK with you. If not please let me know and delete the message.

Louis asked me a question that I hadn't even thought about on this site. Thanks for the thoughts, Louis!

If anyone has any extra baby clothes, toys, diapers that are now too small, extra wipes, anything that you don't need anymore but have not thrown away, I have a use for it. My church has adopted the community of Pine Island, which took a huge hit from Hurricane Charley, and we are helping not only to cleanup and rebuild the community, but to take care of those in shelters right now. There are lots of kids in the shelters who have lost all of their toys, clothes, etc. We are collecting anything that can be used to take to the shelters. There is currently a huge shortage of toys for the kids. We have groups going out every day to cook, serve meals, do cleanup and repairs, and anything else we can to help those who have lost so much in this disaster. I will make sure anything you send will go out as soon as I get it.

If you can help either post a message here or send me a private message and I'll send you my mailing address. I don't want to put it here, but will send it to anyone who asks.

Wow. This could be something good. Why dont you give us your postal address via email if necessary or at least the address of your church and we'll get the stuff shipped.

Sounds like it's best just to use the church address.

Any basic need item could be used. That includes clothes, food, toys, toothbrushes, soap, linens, etc. You name it and someone has lost it. The area our church has adopted got sustained winds close to 140 mph.

The following is the website for our local Fort Myers newspaper. It has extensive pictures of the various cities in my area that were hit by Hurricane Charley. These are some of the best pictures I've seen posted anywhere.

I posted your message on out TampaDads group, we'll see if anyone replies.

I recently posted info regarding donating items to local migrant communities, so folks may have already emptied out their extra stuff...

Our local church has adopted one of the smaller towns in the area. It seems that a lot of the relief efforts drive right throuhg the town with food, clothing, etc to go to PG and other larger sites of damage.

Good luck with the effort! We've all kept you in our minds! Could have been us!
