can't start print spooler

I'm at my wits end, hopefully someone has a solution, I can't get the print spooler to start in win xp services, it says the RPC service it's dependent on isn't there, RPC is running though, I tracked it down to a possible registry gliche due to an old printer install, ran through the registry and fixed everything I could find, still can't get it started, ran hijackthis, adaware, spybot and regscrubxp, any advice is more than welcome...

The only thing I could recommend is maybe try reinstalling your printer software.

Was the old printer a Lexmark?

Or better yet an HP. Their print manager has a major "hokie" glitch if you've added the photo printer. I'm still unable to get rifd of it.

ironically there were two old printers on it, one hp and the newer of the two, and what I thinkk caused the commotion a compaq, which was actually made by lexmark? keep goin, do you know how to fix it [-o<
