My wife's Birthday is thursday, the 2nd of Sep. I didnt forget about it, just didnt realize until yesterday that it is this week. I havent gotten her anything yet, or have any idea what to get her for that matter. I have many ideas about stuff that I could get her, but I like to try and find that gift that is totally unexpected, and thoughtful.

I've been to that restaurant if we are thinking of the same one, very nice place, good food, for Italian food, I am not a huge fan of traditional Italian food, New age italian is decent, but the old school food is not my can of worms.

I have never been to Il Sol, might be an idea to try, but I am thinking of taking her down to center city friday and go on the spirit of Philadelphia cruise for dinner. If we can get on there, probably is booked, but then we will just go to the Chart House.

I can cook a mean steak, I like mine rare though, but there is quite a few restaurants around here that cook a decent steak.

mine frequently comes out like a hockey puck.

lol, marinate it longer tenderize it with a fork to push some of the marinade into it, and dont cook it as long, I Take it you like it well done then, just try not to cook it quite as long, get a meat thermometer and take the temp, that is a good way to not overcook.

Another thing folks sometimes forget is the steak keeps cooking after you take it off the grill. I've screwed up a few that way. I like mine medium rare, and would cut into it on the grill to check and take it off right then, only to have it go too far after taking it off!
aaah well,
Oh, on topic, Mike, good luck with the birthday tomorrow!

I still dont know really what to do, she has to work tomorrow, so I want to do something nice tomorrow, I was thinking of a canlelight dinner when she comes home. We have two cornish hens in the freezer, I could stuff them, make mashed potatoes n gravy, corn, and homemade bread in the bread machine, have a bunch of candles lit, with romantic music, screw the romantic music, I will get some Barry white, or some other music that will get me lucky.

LOL, yeah, maybe I will jsut sing "Let's get it on" to her. If I smoked 30 or so cigars today, maybe my voice would be deep enough, ya think??

What time in the morning, channel 10 here is cnbc, so I am not sure if that is the same channel as you are talking about, comcast is crazy, people 4 miles up the road in Levittown have a completely different lineup then we do in Bensalem.

I have no idea what you just said or what it means, I think I need someone to educate me on this.

Yeah, channel 10 is nbc, but it is channel 12 here, I will look for it.

Sorry, two of my favorite cigar brands that are relatively affordable. I got a box of Cohiba's when Tara was born, and am planning on a box of Fuentes when the next one is born. Mind you, I still have most of the first box in my humidor, but hey, its not like they go bad.
:)
Theres nothing like a cool summers evening (thats all we have here) sitting on the porch sipping homebrew and smoking a good cigar.

Yep. Tonight I had a few minutes free, so it was me and my dog on the deck, drinking a Pilsner and listening to the racket of the crickets. Nice...

I did that last night to, sat on the deck, watched the stars. We are having an extraordinary week of weather, beautiful weather here right now. Going to be a good holiday weekend, we are going to go down to the shore sometime.

Back on the cigar thing, I have smoked maybe two cigars, one was supposedly a really good expensive cigar my neighbor gave me, I lied to him and told him I smoked it, but the truth was I took 3 or 4 hits, and couldnt handle anymore of it. But I love the smell of a fresh cigar.

Usually when I ask my wife questions like these, she just ellicits a low growl and threatens my well-being. Now I just keep these questions to myself and try not to make eye contact.

LOL, are you sure you arent living with my wife, exactly how I handle the situation, I am lucky enough to have a wife that has a pretty good sense of humor.

That is just to funny.

Mike, tell her the guys wish her a happy birthday!

(I don't even think things like trading in my wife, she's 7.5 months pregnant and would probably tear me in two if I considered that  )

I try and keep my Cohibas pretty moist, like in the high end of ok, and they are really mellow then... Its funny, I can dig around in there and still find a couple swisher sweets.

For the most part, my wife has a great sense of humor. Now, hooking the hose up to cold water input in the laundry room, and getting even for the "cold glass of water over the shower curtain", isn't something she finds nearly as funny as I do.

I used to do that all the time, but we got a clear shower curtain, and she keeps an eye out for me, but I still fart under the covers and get up and turn on the light in the middle of the night, it never fails, as soon as the light turns on, she sticks her head under the covers and starts cursing me as soon as she smells it......LMAO

It hardly ever fails, she always falls for it, it is so funny, even at three in the morning, she throws a fit at the time, but the next morning she is laughing about it saying she will get me back.
