I got a good one here. First let me set this up my girls 6,7 have a wooden bunkbed in a good size room. My 4 year old son and his sisters have no fear of getting hurt, they deffinatly don't think everything they do through. Afew months ago the where all playing in the girls room. The usual scream here "Dad Duncan did this" there. Then it gets really quiet. I don't realize it until I hear a loud thud then a few seconds later a scream from Katrina my 6 years old. I run in there swcared to death wondering what they where doing this time. As i walk in , first they also have this tunnel thing their Grandma had given them. About six feet long made out of tent material. You guessed it Selina,7, was on the floor holding the tunnel up while Duncan,4, was holding while on the top bunk and Katrina was the one who tried to slide down only to land on her head. She was fine, nothing a little tylenol didnt' help. But for once none of them tried that again, I am genuinely surprized.
Thought you might like.
That silence is incredible... a minutia of time, but lasts absolutely forever. Do you wonder what goes through their heads right before they try it? I remember some pretty stupid stuff I've done, but not the reasoning that lead up to it!
Great story, thanks for sharin'!

I definatly remember doing some really stupid stuff. About the age of 8 or 9 my best friend Jason and I decided we would go in the ditch in front of our house, after the road crew had spent two days with backhoes and dumptrucks cleaning it, to play in the mud. It was like quicksand. In memory it only took a few minutes to end up waist deep in mud. Now I'm sure it took longer than that, but it took two very stong men to pull us out. I still remember loosing one of my hunting boots in that mess, not to mention the a*& wooping I got. That is only the beginning of the stupid stuff I did with my friends.

They were being creative, I always praise them for being creative, no matter how much trouble they get into using their creative skills. A tube slide off the bunkbed, not a bad idea, build a tube slide for them, and thank them for the idea. I love kids minds, they come up with the best stuff, but the hard part is our job, trying to make it work.
When I was painting my Daughter's room, she kept wanting to get into the paint and help, but I told her she couldnt, cause I didnt want her getting paint all over her hands, then touching the wall. Then it hit me, I told her to comeback upstairs, had her hold her hands out, I took the paint roller and covered both her hands in paint, and had her stick them on the wall. She is so proud of her hand prints on the wall now, she wont quit talking about it.
Wow.
Just imagine it could have been worse! Good thing they are all ok and later, you can point out his little stunts to his future girlfriends!
I ALWAYS make mental notes on everything my kids do so I can use it against them when they become adults... :D
