When I dial a number and I get a message "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please hang up and try your call again.", is the problem the phone, the phone company, or what? It's a land line, and I ended up using our cell way to much because of it, and got smacked with a big bill. Thanks for any help.

I'd call your local phone company (using your cell of course  ) They should know

Are you using "1+area code" and then the number? You need that to call the house next door these days.
Maybe you had the cell phone programmed with the complete #?

It's the land line that is the problem. It happens at times with both long distance/1-800 numbers and local calls.

Well, after a month of problems, I finally made that phone call. They said they'd take care of it.
Dang, that wore me out. Totally spent. I deserve a beer!

Glad to see you back! :D
