My OTHER pride and joy.. my Dell XPS died yesterday. I suspect the wonky powersupply fried the motherboard.. or it just commited suicide due to it being used for about million hours over its intended lifespan..
Not under *official* warranty, but I bought it with my platinum visa which claims to double the warranty you get. We've tried this before (my wife blows through laptops like a 3 year old and clean socks) and were denied the claim due to it being 2 days past the 45 day time limit they informed us after we submitted it. I think the whole thing is a scam, and that every claim will be denied. BUT my DW is a bulldog for these sorts of things, so we'll see if I get my four hundred back back for the fix.
In the mean time.. we get to sha.. "I'm ALMOST done!" we get to share this.. "YES, one more MINUTE, please!" we get to share this laptop.. "OK, but you'll have to change a dirty diaper SOME time!"
