Mod'd XBOX Shananigans!

So, with my laptop on the mend in some Dell Depot, I decided to mess up my xbox for fun (well no, not intentionally).

I have a modified xbox and a 160 gig drive.. so I decided to try that whole networking and messing about thing.

Well it went somewhat well.. got it all connected to a spare laptop, looked at all the files and generally just snooped around. Decided I wanted to add a bunch of trainers* to the ones already installed.

After copying about a dozen in, rebooted my xbox.. lo and behold.. it skipped the EvolutionX menu and just went to the standard MS Dash everytime. Which is what it is NOT supposed to do.

So after a few days of mucking about, I finally got a bootable dvd image to reinstall everything. Had to back up everything, which was a PAIN. I eliminated some of the trainers, and only copied the ones with really good reviews and what not. Everything works fine again.

What an adventure.

Ironic that I had to reinstall yet another MS product. Mind you, not their fault this time.

*Trainers - externally run programs that alter something in the game to your benefit. ie. Unlimited Gold, Power, Flatulance. One hit kills, etc.

I have thought about picking up one of those Flash Drives for my Gameboy Advance. Can store all the MAME tyoe things on it... Friend did it, but have never seen the results...

So your the guy I love to beat in the games I play online. I hate people when they use cheats and kill me. Don't mind them playing, just don't kill me. Ahhhh. I have only a stock XBOX, which I believe was fried in a storm a couple of months ago. Lasted many years though. I just can't get online now. Gives me a no cable connected error. Hello XBOX! There is a cable connected. Oh well. I guess it wants me to get 360. But I really love Unreal Tournament.

i have ut 2006 for pc...

I have been annoyed as the last 3 games i have tried to play all require a pixel shader, which of course my vid card doesn't support. So now I found the best vid card my mb will support and will prolly buy sometime today for 50 bucks.
Games i couldn't run:

Pirates of the Caribbean: The legend of jack sparrow
Titan Quest
X3

The first two are brand spanking new, within the last 2 months...x3 on the other hand is a year old and I still couldn't run it. =/ Oh well, least when the card is fixed, I should be able to play them.

Cool. My friends here all play war games. They were all in the millitary. Currently I play nothing. I loved Unreal Championship, Battlefield 2 and others online. Halo 2....not so much. IT is okay, but not a favorite. Thats a good deal though. May have to wait til I sell my house and buy a new one. Need the extra cash at the momment. Once I get in the new house the new pool table and 360 will follow. I will go online with ya. Look for the gamertag "A CANADIAN".

I've been playing COD 2 online alot lately. Lots of fun. I don't play Halo 2 either online.
