Attaching pics

I have not attached pics since the site was upgraded. I get the attachment into the attachment manager section but then I can not get it into the message section. I am using image shack. Thanks in adance for any advice.

just copy the image location url, hit the little photo mountain thingie on the post/post reply put the addie in the box hit ok and picture should come up

Thanks for the tip. I still seem to be having problems. I see no photo mountain thingie and certainly no addie. When I try to add a pic in a reply I click the "go advanced" tab. From there I click the "manage attatchments tab. I can get the attachments in there but have no way of getting them in the reply field. No thingies at all. It lists my attacment, tells me how much space my attachment uses and there is an attachment key there as well. I will try again tomorrow.

after you click upload it should show as an attachment where the manage attachments is at, it will not show in the reply field...

also check the top of the screen for upload errors if the pic is too large...

when you start to type a message in advance there should be the menu bar atop the typing box with all the bold/italic/underline options plus a host of others no?

in there is a picture of a mountain range thats how to direct link a picture to the post so it shows up in the message body not as an attachment

There is no menu bar here. All I have is the post icons on the bottom. I uploaded the pic in the attachments box. It did losd it and list it and told me the size and deemed it acceptable. I will Submit reply and see what happens. I was never asked tro add it or anything. Here we go.

Obviously the atacment loaded up but not as a pic by itself. Oh well. Any other ideas? It would not open for me.

ok the old style still works when you post a picture to image shack you know about the image location address right?

that should work

if that doesnt work you can always oggle at the pic i posted in fileshack to use to help ya out.

If your using Imageshack, just copy and paste form the "Emeddable Code" section the line marked "Forums" Imageshack already includes the tags.

Plus the photo you tried to attach is in a zip file, you can't view the pic til it's ben unzipped :)

There is no menu bar here. All I have is the post icons on the bottom.

that's your problem, go to User cp> edit options> editor interface and change it to standard or enhanced. After you do that you should see this screen when you "go advanced" and the button surrounded by red in the one you want

the manage attachments, the photo will not show in the post itself except as a link, it's good to upload pics of your kids directly from your comp, as they go directly to Don's server, so they aren't out there lingering on some other server... you can do both, have it show in a post directly and have it on don's server, upload to your photos which Don just installed if you are a paid member, (vb image host button on top) then take the url from it's location on don's site and add it as you would if it was from image shack using ther button

Thanks SAO. I should not even ask how you did it. Anyway, that is a pic of my son during our little pizza party together last weekend. The pic was taken on my phone then I emailed it to myself and added it to my pictures. At least I got that right eh.
