how to attach a pic

using a site such as imageshack

1) open two browser windows, do this so that you don't have to close the one that is hosting the pic and you can get the info easily if you screw up)

2) in the first browser come here and check your user cp settings, go to user cp

then go to edit options

then scroll down to editor interface and choose "standard editor"

Now go to post your topic/picture
choose the "go advanced reply"

it will look like this, the button in red you push when you want to insert your image

now at image shack you upload your image, you then choose the direct link, highlight it and copy it

then click the insert button as shown before and paste the info you copied from image shack into the window which will look like this, delete the http provided as it is in what you copied

to make a clickable thumbnail
to make sure it will work, copy the "thumbnail for forums"

and paste it directly into the body of the reply, then replace the the part you see in red in the partial paste below

with a dirct link, which you will copy and paste from image shack

if you are a paid member and want don to host the pic and be able to see it in a post

go to "vbimagehost" at the top of the page, and select upload an image

host the picture and it will automatically take you to the picture after it uploads
highlight and copy this part

and paste it into the text area where you want your picture

Or, if you use Firefox, you can download an extension (http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=extension) that lets you simply right click on any photo to automatically upload it to Imageshack.

Then just copy the "Hotlink for forums" field and paste it into your post.

Thanks Sao! I guess you were getting tired of being my assistant. When is secretaries day anyway? When I saw the part early on about opening 2 browser windows I new that would help. Everytime I would click on image shack the dads website would dissappear.
