OK......how about something for the Dad on the go.....for breakfast!!
1) The Easiest Scrambled Egg Sandwich You'll Ever Make::
Things you'll need:
One small square Tupperware bowl
One egg
milk
A can of butter spray
2 strips of microwave bacon ( the kind that's already cooked, you just pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so.)
Ketchup
2 slices of bread.......we use wheat, but whatever......
mayo
a sprinkle of Garlic, maybe??
a dash of Hot sauce, maybe??
Time to prepare: a minute and a half, give or take.............
First, Pop the bread in the toaster. Then I always do the bacon. It goes in the microwave for about 45 seconds and it gets crispy after you take it out and let it sit while you're doing the egg. Now, squirt some butter spray into the Tupperware to coat the bottom. Take the egg and hold it about a foot above the bowl and drop it in. That should break it pretty cleanly, so take out the shell and pour in a splash of milk. Take a fork and whip the egg and milk together. Here, if it's for the kids you might keep it plain. If it's for you or the wife (always good to send the little lady off to work around all those good looking guys hangin on the water cooler with a touch of garlic breath) or older kids you might want to sprinkle in a little garlic powder and some red pepper......anyway..........when it's stirred up put it in the microwave for approximately 60 seconds. Toast comes out about here...slap a little mayo on each piece. When the egg is cooking it will swell all up like it's gonna explode, NO FEAR! As soon as the wave shuts off it will shrink back down to a perfect square in the bottom of the Tupperware that you can easily fork out onto the toast. It should fit pretty well, too. Salt and pepper it to your taste, put a little ketchup on it. Then break the bacon strips in half and lay them on to cover the whole mess............sprinkle on some hot sauce if you like and slap the other piece of toast on top. Now you have the easiest, best egg sam'ich you'll ever make. And it's damn good too!
Ask me about the Shrimp Civeche with Fried Plantains sometime.........
peace..Buzz

Works great with Canadian Bacon or ham if you can't find the pre-cooked bacon. This is a great b-fast on the go.

May I suggest something in a Jimmy Dean Croissant? Sausage, egg and cheese. 42 seconds in the microwave (thawed). No clean up neded either. They cost less than a dollar each at Costco.

Buzz, I swear you look like Grizzly Adams!
I'm new here so I haven't helped you with a darn thing. The book sounds great though. I have the same idea for after my son turns 5; he's almost 2.
The recipies idea sounds like a very good side.
