I'm working on my MIL's mp3 player. Its a 4gb RCA player (which I can find nothing about online) and I'm having two or three minor issues.
First, her son loaded two audio books mp3 split by chapters, and put them in the music folder. She's listened to the books and is done with them. I plug the player into my machine and the explorer doesn't see them. It sees the music I loaded for her, sees the samples, but not the book files.
Next, it says it plays "Audible" audio books, they must have some proprietary playlist file to recognise the chapters or something. Anyone know how to make those playlists? .POS is the extension. p.o.s is right.

Thoughts?

I have used 3 different brands of mp3 player. What is the PC software being used for it. Each player I have used iPod, NOMAD and some off brand in each case there was software that loaded the mp3's iTunes, Nomad something or other... I was trying to pull stuff off the nomad and needed to install the original software to access everything.

Do you have any idea how the mp3's were put on?

That would be my first test...

Second try to use a new software program. ala itunes... Maybe the program will find the information. I know there are a ton of FREEWARE programs out there that do mp3 playlists.

I don't know how the books were put on, the mp3's that I installed were directly through the wexplorer. The software provided with the player is Winmedia player. I'll ask what he used to instal them, I have a sneaking suspicion it was iTunes.

If so, here is the manual:

You may need the latest firmware updates found here:

Hope this helps you out.
