Went to BestBuy today. Needed to find a more ergonomic mouse solution. Picked-up the Logictech track-ball. We also needed a new el-cheapo wall phone.
And while I was there, this video capture device caught my eye - so I got it.
Turns out the last customer was an employee and the cashier must have been a newbie.
I got the employee discount!
Trackball/Mouse: $28 - $41 retail
Phone: $7 - $12 retail
Video Capture: $82 - $101 retail
I saved $50!
It's just nice to catch a break every now and again!
Oh, yeah - the tech goodies are sweet too!

Mouse/trackball takes a little getting used to, but so far, a definite improvement.
No more wrist pain. Yay!

ARGHH! That damn track ball mouse! Back when I was still working I was supervising a small office crew, often times I had to go work with them on their PC's, this one girl had a super-sensitive track ball mouse. Within seconds I was ready to throw this thing out the window. Those are HORRIBLE! Enjoy!

I get pain in my wrist and elbow, I wear one of those braces you buy at the drug store and this mouse, http://www.ergonomicsmadeeasy.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=87
I've even been to an orthopedist a few times for it, had tests and they so no carpal, been a few years though but the damn quacks took my insurnace for alot of money and no answer, and luckily I only took one bottle of vioxx  Or I might be one with a graveyard.

Day 2 with the Trackball....the wrist is feeling much, much better!
I probably spend a good 6 to 8 hours a day working on the pc these days. So this is probably not an issue for the casual user.
Wrapping my paw around a little mouse and moving the whole arm was really starting to take it toll. I was getting a sore spot on the heel of my hand.
This thing is nice. About the size of your hand. And slightly tilted to accommodate a more 'natural' angle. Thumb does most of the work.
Instead of wrapping your hand around the mouse, you kind of just lay your hand on it and do what-ever you're doing.
I likey. I also have a 3DConnexion Space Traveler3 for the left hand that adds to the navigation. Using 2 hands, what a concept!

if you would stop jerkin off you wouldn't have needed a "more ergonomic mouse"

I'm just a little curious why no one even mentioned the moral implications of me walking out of the store with $50 of "their" money.
1- Fook the Big, Bad, Big Box Reseller!
2- Score one for the average Joe! Take da money & run!
3- Darn it! Go back, confess, and pay-up!
4- It's Charma! You'll pay in another life!
Anyhoo... the Trackball is nice. Getting used to it and the wrist/arm pain has abated!
Like anyone cares! :p ;)

We went to Ikea several years ago and bought some furniture. we put some stuff under the cart and we went to the check out, we thought they scanned in everything, but when we got home we realized they missed it. So we saved a boat load of money with that....
I'm sure it would be considered shoplifting, but we went through the checkout process and they missed so I think the blame is one them....This also happened to my BIL....although I think he knew during checkout which would be different....
There is no reason to go back enjoy the new goodies..

When I was a kid, I had saved up $200 to get the new Okimate color printer from Toys R Us for my C64. (stop laughing)
When my mom took me to buy it, the customer pick-up guy accidently gave us a CASE of the printers (four total). We had no idea until we got home. My mom freaked out and thought she stole from the store. My dad, a PD, said to forget about it, since it was their mistake and they will deal with it.
Well, the next day, we took the three extra printers to the store. The customer service people were very rude and they called the security dude over to 'keep an eye on' us while they found a manager to figure out how to process the return of something there was not a receipt for. For doing the right thing, my mom (a very nice, well-dressed middle-class lady) was treated like a criminal. Not the best lesson for a 14-year-old.
As to the Karma deal, consider it a little payback on your own good karma. As an SAHD, you likely do more positive selfless things in a week than many guys do in a year. :wtg:

I think you brought bad karma to this thread Jeffus. The mouse I mentioned, which I love, fell on the ground today as I was settgin up my office and broke :( Since you saved $50 you think you can float me $40 towards the new mouse :p

I went out and bought a new wireless MS mouse, not too bad, it's comfy so far, has a cool zoom feature and the center wheel also moved right and left for scrolling. Cost $60 after a $10 off coupon at officemax.
