This is a fast and easy marinade I came up with for salmon grilled on the barby. I found a spice called Tandori blend which is from Indian cooking but alot of stores carry some version of it, or you can get it on the net. I take ground ginger, soy sauce, and sometimes a little teriaki sauce and mix it up in a glass container that will hold a fillet of salmon. Sprinkle a good amount of the tandori blend on top but don't mix it in, lay the salmon fillet skin side up in the marinade and let sit in the fridge while you fire up the grill. Grill the salmon skin side down, it protects the meat, keeps it moist, and burns off any fat. Sometimes I will use a cedar plank soaked in water under the salmon for inderect heat and to add flavor. Enjoy!

Tandori style is good. I do it on shrimp too.

Lately I've been cooking my fish skin side up first, then flip it skin side down second. If you're lucky, the skin will stay on the grill when you remove it and therefore eliminates a yucky presentation of skin on the plate.

Thanks for the recipe. Grilled salmon is a staple in this household. My "signature dish" is cedar planked salmon with a mango-peach salsa. Good times.

You can add it to your brine when smoking salmon too, it really adds flavor.
