I found a group locally, but if anyone around the suburbs north of Philadelphia is looking for any groups, get ahold of me, and maybe we can start one of our own!!

I'm up in Northern New Jersey (Morris township), outside of NYC... so it'd a whole bunch of hours for me to drive. Sorry I can't make it!

There is alot of stuff to do in Jersey, maybe a day trip to the shore for all of us,

It is still a drive for you, but Great adventure would be a fun trip to take the kids on. Get the wives involved to.

I am going to core creek park sunday for a Birthday party for my Wife's cousin's son.

Yeah, great adventure is a six flags park, with more to do that a person can do in one day, my son is 8 months old, and just the sights and sounds would be enough for him,

I have to check it all over with the wife first before I make any plans, but as soon as I talk to her, I will get back to you.

I'm within striking distance of Great Adventure. If anything's happening, love to get in on it.

I was there a couple of weeks ago with my 3 year old (& Grandma). Lots of stuff to do for the little ones. More to do with those 36" or taller. And still more to do with the 42" or bigger. Puppet shows, sea-lion & dolphin show, rides, etc. My kid has no fear and I was lucky to get out of there without having to ride any of the vomit-comets.

I'm actually 1-2 miles from the shore. If anyone's (well, you Philly guys, at least) interested in a Daddy day at the beach, we'd love to get a caravan over to Island Beach State Park (just a bit father away). $6 a carload. My wife, daughter, & I were there last week. Something like 8 miles of totally unmolested natural forest and dunes. 2 miles of guarded beach with bathrooms, changing rooms, concession stand (reasonably priced too! $2 or $3 for a burger). When we were walking to the beach we saw a pod of dolphins in the water.

A little late in the year for me to make a trek but maybe next year we can plan a little dadstayshome.com event at Great Adventure, probably a or 5 hour drive for me. Maybe even hershey park or sesame place?

Which one sounded interesting? Great Adventure or the Shore?

My wife is from Philly. It's about a hour + 15 minute drive from here to there. Great Adventure is about 1 hour from here, Island Beach State Park is about 20 minutes from here.

If Great Adventure is good, you guys dump off the NJ Turnpike - 7A and I'll meet you there. From Philly, it should be less than an hour.

The shore is another matter. We can make travel plans later if this is the preferred destination.

Sesame place, that is just up the road from me, we have a family pass that we can go whenever we want, but havent been there in a couple weeks.

I am up for anything guys, I will take a day trip to the shore, sounds like fun. Have to run it by the wife and pound out the plans.

I hope you guys have fun! I doubt I can make it. But if you guys like it, we should plan an event for next summer for sure.

Hi Gents~
Bucks County At Home Dad Playgroup Coordinator here... for simplicity's sake, though, please call me Kurt. For those interested in learning more about the group, here is some info.
- It's a small group, active-member-wise. For playgroups, it is usually myself and my daughter, and another dad and their offspring. It's pretty unusual for 3+ dads to be there. Most of the dads in the group also work or take classes.
- Most of the playgroups are take place in central- to lower-Bucks County.
- Being relatively new to the area -- moved here about 2 years ago from the Boston area -- I'm always open to new ideas on what to do, where to meet, etc.

That's the basics. If any of you are interested in being added to the e-mail list, drop me a line.

Cheers!
~ Kurt

Nice, we have a coordinator......lol

I will meet up with you guys sooner or later, My wife's grandfather and uncle are in the hospital now, so she is working a really weird schedule, so when she is home, I try to be here with her. But come winter time, maybe we can do a day at happy times. It is off of county line road near hatboro I think.

Is there a way one can receive an e-mail containing posts for the day (a la Yahoo Groups) or must one be diligent and check in on this site periodically?

Thanks.

There is a "view posts since last visit" link in the upper right of the main page that could help you out. I've never actually used it though...
