Hi everybody

I am the stay at home dad of Claire, our five month old.
My wife and I always planned on my staying home, we just expected that I would have a stay at home job too......
So, things are tight but its all worth it. I look forward to meeting some other SAHDs and swapping some tips on shoestring baby budgets.

Tim, Claire's Dad

Welcome to the site.

I'm from NC as well and also a new dad. Alex is four and a half months now.

We made many budjet adjustments starting a year ago in preparation for me staying at home.

No stay at home job here, just some off and on weekend work at my former job.

Come back and don't be shy about posting!

Welcome,

I can sympathize about the money. We pretty much assumed the next few years were a wash financially. I picked up a daycare kid as well as ours. Like it so much I'm thinking of incorporating next year and expanding to a couple more kids. For now though just 1 and evening shifts driving zamboni at the rink. So 'tight' is our montra.

You've made a good choice though even if it means giving up some luxuries. Have fun checking out the posts.

Hello Tim! Don't worry it'll slowly but surely will come to you. One morning Claire won't allow you to read the Newspaper anymore and you realize there and then that you don't need that subscription anymore (except for Sundays when the coupons are included).

Another day you'll have to stop watching ESPN or HBO Sports so you decide to switch to basic cable...

Rewards will be many though

Hey Tim,

Chris here, I'm in Stanley, just north of Charlotte. My oldest son lives up that way in Lexington. Nice to see someone kinda close on here.

Ours are kinda close, I stay at home with an 8 month old boy, Alex. Hollar at me if ya need anything.
