Hello all,

I have been a SAHD for only week and one day. But it's been great so far.
I have a 2 year old girl and a 6 mouth old boy.

I lost my job about 3 weeks ago. Since we were facing unemployment, we both started looking for work and Erika was fortunate (?)enough to find a job first. My wife questioned the "fortunate" part because she has really enjoyed being home with the kids and she wasn't prepared to go back to work full time. God, however, had different plans than we did and blessed my wife with a job that will support our family. Although my wife misses the kids like crazy, my wife and I have committed to having a slightly non-traditional arrangement with me staying at home while my wife works full time.

Welcome Steve, good to hear from you and congratulations on your new assignment.

If you go back and review some of the older postings on this site you'll find a lot of sound advice from guys with a lot of experience in matters of parenthood. You'll also find a lot of funny stuff. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying it.

Post away...

Welcome to the club 4x4!

It only took you 1 week with the kids to drive you to this site! Wow! - tell the kids to go easy on you until you find your groove.

Drive me to this site? LOL! I new about this site for about a years and a half or so. We were consitering the switch back then but it didn't pan out.
I just think forums are really cool. You get the meet lots of people you otherwise wouldn't ever meet.

This switch has been much harder on my wife then me.

My wife said the only thing that made going back to work (after the birth) bearable, was knowing that I was taking care of da kid.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to extricate myself from the current predicament.

Glad you got the 'drive' reference - get it: 4x4, drive. Ugh-I've been home tooooo long.....
