I'm looking for a little feedback about my kegerator (http://www.treml.org/tandv/kegweb/index.htm) pages. Clearly I'm not a web guru or programmer by any stretch. Just played with frontpage and the spit out from photoshop.
Also I would appreciate any comment about content, or if I'm missing something.
TIA!

Not bad for a first try. Not sure about that orange background.

You should find a site online that would pay you for referring visitors to buy the accessories for building the kegerator. Add the URL to google.com and see if you can get listd in DMOZ.org, that would get you some free traffic.

Cool, thanks! I was kinda going for a beer'y look. I've seen one site that had carbonation bubbles running in the background, but thats too much.
I'll dink around some more with it during tomorrows nap time

http://www.ezresearch.com/shopping/beer.html this is one of my sites, undergoing a redesign but all the merchants on that page pay commissions for each sale generated by my site.

Thats a neat idea! Maybe after I get it dialed in I'll look into that.
I'll refrain from commenting (too much) about Mr. Beer, though.
I'll try and refrain....

Hey tony, I am looking into building a beermeister out of a chest freezer like yours, is this a 5.0 cu. ft. freezer you used, or a 7.2 cu. ft. All the ones I have looked at only have a depth of 23 1/4". I imagine that is why you built the collar for it, the kegs are 27" tall, I am still looking around for different ones, but I thought I would ask you first what size you had.

Honestly, I don't know what the size is. It fits two kegs neatly alongside the compressor shelf and will fit two more on the compressor if I raise the collar another 10 inches. Not sure I want to do that yet though.
The two kegs will fit in there (I think) without the collar, it'd be tight. The reason I went with the collar is money and my preference. A tower is expensive and not very flexable. You get one with two faucets, but what if you want to expand to three? Get a new tower.
The collar was made from scrap wood and hardware, the faucets from ebay fairly cheap at the time... and when I add more kegs I can expand at less a cost. And it looks sharp enough for a basement. I've got the drip tray done as well, just have to schlaque it and hang it ;)

I am thinging about getting a chest type refrigerator that the door opens in the front, I have seen a few of them online, and am going out looking around later for something to do. Gonna check salvation army, and a couple other places before i look for them new. I want the door to open in the front, so I can put the tower on top with two or three faucets, This is a long term goal of course, as I am gonna bottle a couple batches first.

This is exactly what I want, but I am not sure if I could fit two kegs and the co2 in there, I am going to sears later to look at it if they have one in stock. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=APPL&pid=04691499000&tab=specs#tablink

Sorry, I can't remember how tall kegs are, but 28" sticks in my head (I could be WAY off) but they are 8" across. Fold up a piece of regular paper and bring it along to give you an idea of how many kegs'll fit in the floor space. (8.5"x11" get it? )

Also, beware if there is a freezer section in it becuase that little area is where the coolant runs, and you can't remove it and bending it would be scary.

Um... what else... check the classifieds for used if you want to go that route as well, I know MN metro area has a website for folks wanting to get rid of their crud, check if you've got one too.

If you don't mind spending, sams club has one set up for commercial with a single tower, buddy of mine just got that one and we re-fit it for homebrew, and bought him a new tower, it fits three kegs + the cylander, and put a 4" 3faucet tower on top... I didn't get to see the tower in, but will this Thursday (oh yeah, man, get to go brew and drink at a buddies house)

Good luck! And welcome to the OBSESSION!

It is a freezerless refrigerator, so no worries there, the tanks are 27"tall. This one according to my math would hold two 5 gal for sure, I am not sure if I could get a 5# co2 tank in there also, but I am not to worried about that, I can work around that.

I dont want to just go out and buy one, I want to build it, I appreciate things more when I have to sweat over them, lol now I all I have to do is talk swmbo into it.

Perfect, then the 28" in my head was dead on for clearance of the quick disconnects and tubing. I know sanyo makes or made one that fits your requirements too, a lot of guys on the nbf have them.
I wish you luck sir, and before you buy, make dang sure there are no coolant lines running through the top! Or see if they have a schematic so you can avoid them ;)

already checked, no coolant lines in the top, and I just got back from sears looking at it, I am ordering it in about 5 minutes online from them, as I have a 20% off coupon that is only available on their website. I feel like a kid at christmas, I am so excited....lol

I'm far from being a web pro but I must say I like these kinds of pages. Step by step discussion and pictorials of people's creations.

I like the terra-cotta background but I'd change the title of the page to something else, though. :P

It is a pretty good set of instructions, it helped me alot to figure out what I needed to do. Tony has been a big help in my new hobbie, you to Kevin, very appreciated!!

Kevin, what would you title it?!?

I've been thinking of re-doing it to a more linear explanation, one page next to slightly larger thumbnails and just click the image for a larger view.
Also, all this talk of kegerators and helping my buddy... I mentioned he got a new tower, anyway, for my help he's said he'd give me the single tower  so I've already got ideas on how to go about fitting two more kegs in there and a single tower on the top... think about this, guys, two regular ale/lager on the side and stout off the tower!!!!
f'in' awesome if I do say so myself. Best part is, I think I've got enough scrap to pull off the "renovation" with no out of pocket... um... except a secondary regulator, more gas hose, more quick disconnects... more ingredients to keep up with 3 taps... oh crap #-o

LOL, that is what I was thinking, It just keeps adding up, everytime I open a book, or a new website on brewing, I find about another 200 bucks of stuff I want. It is a big circle, and I can't get out.

When I start thinking in grand scope my wife usually looks at me... you know the look, and says "do you really need that?"
usually brings me back to reality.

women have a good sense of being able to pull us back in huh?? If it wasnt for my wife, i'd either be broke, have nowhere to walk in my house, as it would be so full of junk.

Kevin, what would you title it?!?

Anything but "Adobe Photoshop 5.5 Web Photo Gallery" :)

Sorry. I'm a refugee from the software world. Sometimes I get carried away with the nostalgia of writing code and developing interfaces (my specialty). And sometimes the memories overwhelm me and I have to nit-pick other people's work. It's not my fault!!! My former career made me into this anal-retentive monster! I was fine until a career in software engineering warped my otherwise casual demeanor.

Happily there's medication. Its called homebrew.

Whoa, I thought I changed all those... dang!
I wrote my first webpage in html on a unix machine all those years ago, I understand where you are coming from. Its just using those adobe and frontpage tools are so freakin' easy ya know?!? :)
Besides, its not nit-picking when I ask for it, bring it on!
Thanks
