BTW, how are the Hurricanes looking for their playoff run this year? It's a tight race for spots 5-8. Too bad the Sabres are bitten by the injury bug, big time. You see that hit on Drury? It was a some what "clean" hit but you rearely see guys lay out another like that after the puck is already off his stick in the open ice. Definite intent to injure. The Sabres might have to change their name to the Buffalo Americans or Rochester Sabres since half the team is from their AHL affiliate the Rochester Americans.

As a Ranger fan I am not in the mood to update my hockey ware. Sather must go!!

I wish the Rangers had more North American players like the Sabres. These Euros are killing us with the dipsy doodle style night after night. Nobody dumps and chases and heaven forbid somebody crashes the net. There is not 1 guy on the Rangers that other teams keep their head up on. It's like a friggen free skate these days at the Garden. I hear Sather will be attendance at the Messier number 11 retirement ceremony in Edmonton Tuesday night. way to man the phones in NY during the trade deadline you useless sack of of shit.

I didn't like the Sabres "tough" guy (Peters) going after Emery, after he just beat on Biron. That was classless. At least McGratten got to fight him on Saturday. I think it was a draw actually, but at least it was two fighters. Also Mair http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y524JXOSR6M&mode=related&search=
got his after talking trash to Heatley in the previous game. He actually brought up to Heatley that time when Healtley was driving and killed his teammate Dan Snyder. That was wrong. Neil got him though. That would be a great playoff series to decide who plays Carolina for the East. We had better make the playoffs! I keep watching the trade deadline loom closer...waiting for a big move by Carolina, but nothing as of yet. Listing to XM and watching TSN.ca

Neil is a big time arsehole but he did give a whippin to Mair. But that too is part of the game, you alays have a few players known for cheap shots.

Peter's going after Emery was "old time" hockey, hahaha! After Emery whooped Biron he had to help a brotha out.

Let me know about the skates, I have quite a few places I sell for and can find you the best deal.

You do not want to go too cheap on the skates and you can find good deals on last years models. Cheap skates, hahaha, no pun intended, will more likely hurt your feet.

I just reminded myself that I have not skated in a while, time to dig the skates out of the basement along with the kids skates, too bad my 7 year old will need new skates but I have lots of hand me downs for the youngest son.

I bought a new pair of super tacs about 7-8 years ago. I was told the best way to break them in was before skating in them to put on a wet pair of socks and them put them on as tight as possible for about 20 minutes to help mold the leather inners to my feet. Hey Hockeyfan, is this worthy of "Myth Busters"? It hurt cranking them tight let me tell you. Then you have to use them a number of times to finish the job. God, I have not skated in about 3 years. I am going to have to take my son over to the rink and take a spin.

Mission Skates have a "baking" system. Your suppose to use a special oven, but they bake them for a certain period and then you put them on your feet.

I have read that soaking your skates in warm water and then wearing for a 1/2 hour helps. I'm no expert but I think simply wearing the skaet is the best method, it will take a few hours of skating time to get your foot molded to the skate.

Also read that wearing a thin sock under your sock helps with keeping your foot more comfortable. My feet are sensitive and new skates tend to really hurt my feet for the first 4 or 5 hours of use.

That's a good price, about the same you will pay online, shop.nhl.com does not have that in anything over a size 6. Best I could do is save you 5% at hockeygiant.com.

But supporting your local shop is good, plus a return will be easier and hopefully they throw in the first sharpening. That usually cost $5 or so. Just be sure they fit good as once they are sharpened it's harder to return at most places without some sort of restocking fee.

well after I was told the skates would be in they got the wrong size, even after telling them flat out i needed a size 10. they even got the gf's skate wrong. went to local hockey equipment and walked out with

they fit well and since they are beginner skates i wasnt too worried on the bells and whistles.

Too bad about the first place, you probably would have liked the Reebok skate a little better :)

yeah was definitely my first choice but they dicked me around and wanted something for tomorrow. they couldn't get me a definite delivery date so screw em. were flakes at the rink anyway.

gave the skates their first run. well ok more like wobbly glide. ankle problem seemed to have melted away since its a new skate and has the padding. now of course the new problem was the arch. was giving me a cramp in the arch 1/2 through class. now just have to walk about the house with the skates on to break them in.
