Pet Death

Any advice on explaining why one of the family Dogs has died would be appreciated. My son is 7 and my daughter almost 3. The pooch is 8 and just diagnosed with cataracts as the result of Diabetes. We started her on Insulin; but she still seems to be fading. My son understands Heaven but not my Daughter. Again; any help would be greatly appreciated.

check out your local library there are some really good books out there written to explain pet death to kids in a story like fashion

Our pet rat died today. You might not think a 7 yr old girl would be all that fond of a rat, but my daughter really got attached to him. We havent told her yet, but i know she is going to take it hard. :(
