Sorry fellers nothing too contraversial from me this week.
Just a little 5'x7' piece I actually got paid for this time
This 200lb baby will be hoisted out of the water by the mayor of Norfolk Saturday to open this 36 million dollar cruise ship port near my city. As you can imagine I'm pretty excited, except I can't sleep good worrying.
Here's an article about it.

That rocks! You must get some pics of it coming up out of the harbor for us! I hope it's a REAL sunny day!

Nice! :yeah: Is that stainless or is it meant to rust a little in the water? Looks like there's some copper or bronze in it too? Have fun at the ceremony!

Thanks for all your compliments dudes! Always means alot to know people like your stuff. Looks like its gonna be chilly & cloudy Saturday :eew: I really wanted the sun to hit it. It's not stainless steel, but I kinda go for that look. There's about 11 coats of automotive clear on it. My biggest fear is rust will get through after the salt water bath. This pic was before I totally finished buffing and welding.
I'll be sure to post some pics of the ceremony.

Welp it snowed on April 7th for the first time in 30 years.....God DOES have a sense of humor!
it was a miserable ceremony with harsh wind and snow, but they pulled it out of the water @10am to open the place anyway. I'm sure they wanted more heads than showed up.
Again my pride was dented because I expected a little recognition but got none. That seems to happen to me alot  There WAS alot going on for the ceremony but I think it's normal to want a little mention for 100 hours of work and passion?
They did have cool stuff for the kids and free food, so I can't bellyache too long.
