What do you guys do after having one of those days? Tara didn't sleep well last night, was clumbsy this morning, took a nasty little tumble right off the bat, and the day just went down hill from there...
How do you guys unglue?

ungluing is not something I do well, but if I need some serious ungluing from a not so great day I do something out of the ordinary.

I will either take a walk by myself after dark. I don't have to go for a long walk but maybe walk down to a park and watch the traffic or something. It sounds weird but after an hour or so things seem to be ok again.

I used to have a beer or 2 but I don't want to start drinking when I feel stressed. I like to drink when I feel good prior to the 1st sip. When life seems to hit a nice new plateau and things are looking good then I will get the good beer.

Its no secret that I really like my beer, but the thing is, I like GOOD beer, and strive to create it with my brewing. Reducing what I have on tap from dang near an art form to a simple tool of forgetfulness or stress relief is a travisty, but thats just my opinion. Not that I haven't poured a pint after a bad day, but still, ya know?
Anyway, I was lucky enough that Tara napped for an hour and a half this afternoon, and I had some demolition in the basement to do. Fun thing about it was its right next to an uptake for the furnace, and if you hit that, it rings through the house, so it was like a giant physical puzzle to take out as much as I could without waking her.
Then when Val, my wife, got home I hammered out the 2x4's.
That and kegging my first pilsner style, and first homebrew in months, kinda put the frosting on the day.
So, to top a long winded post, I dig brain teasers like crossword puzzles or the quiet closet demolition to tone down...
I like the walking idea, I should try that with the dog after squirt goes to bed, we both need the exersize anyway

I like to hit the YMCA for a good workout to "unglue"

I like beer as well but usually only drink a few beers every other weekend.

It seems like I have been having many of "those days" lately. My oldest, 4, has been having jealousy issues. constantly harassing our 9 month old and it seems like I yeall at hom about the same things over and over.

This weekend is my B'day, turning 33 and going to hit the Casino to unwind with my wife and some friends. "C'mon, daddy needs a new pair of shoes!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I am glad to hear that other people are having some of "those days". My three yr old seems to be having jealousy issues also, our 6 month old is teething, and he is always grumpy the last few days, and we are also weining him off his medication (phenobarb, which is a barbituate, forgive my spelling please) and the neurologist said he will become grumpy alot more when we are lowering his doses. So I seem to be trying to comfort him, and Portia keeps asking me, "daddy do you want to play a game" I feel guilty always giving Tyler my attention, so I have played candyland 4 times a day, for the last week. I am so tired of that game. I mixed it up a little last night and played it with fruit snacks. we put a fruit snack on every little character, and when someone drew that card they got to eat the fruit snack. Made it a little more interesting, but not much.

I dont really drink, so beer doesnt do anything to unwind me. But demolition, I love it. I tore the floor and walls out of the shed a while back and replaced it all. That helped for a week or so, now I need a new project. lol

We bought a new car last week, so it is kindof fun to take the kids out for a ride in it, and just relax. But the newness in surely to wear off of it soon. :(

mj, I've got a half a basement to rip up and rebuild! Roadtrip your new car on up and lend a hand!
Candyland... man I remember playing that back in the day... I'm sure I'll get my share of that AND chutes and ladders pretty soon, eh?

Well, I'm back from the mini vacation to my folks and the casino. The wife and I were able to get out for the afternoon with some friends. It was fun and made a deposit at the casino, better luck next time. :(

Please try and get out for some "us" time with your wife when you can. We all need to unwind a little.
